I don't believe that you need to go twice. As much as I like my church, I still think some of them are just asking for more money.
When you are basically "forced" to go once a week, you don't want to when you are an adult.

I have to say that I don't although I wish I did. I always feel good when I leave church. Once I stop working every Sat & Sun I plan to start going every week with DD. We NEVER missed when I was growing up and I want to continue that with my children.

Sure do. Have to go twice tomorrow to fufill our regular obligation and our Christmas eve obligation. Love being a Catholic lol
wait, why do you have to go twice? never heard of that.
Since Christmas eve falls on a Sunday your still obliged to go to your regular mass and go to the Christmas Eve mass at 5:30 to fufill your Christmas obligation. Each parish is different. I, nor my DH who was an alter boy, have ever heard of it either, but the monsignor in my church sent out a letter at the beginning of December informing us of it.
This is because Christmas Day is actually the Holy Day of Obligation. It falls on Monday. Some people go on Christmas eve to fulfull this Holy Day. I believe 5pm is when the Holy Day begins (similar to sunset in the Jewish religion), which is why 5pm mass on Sat. fulfills the Sun. obligation. So, if you go before 5pm on Christmas eve, it does not fulfuill the Christmas Day obligation.
