Closed. My brother is a firefighter and said it is safer.
this is good to know - it makes sense. we always keep DS's door closed b/c we are afraid of making too much noise.

Yes. His room is downstairs in our house. My dog tends to whine a bit so we shut the door.

It is closed to a crack left open. DS is a light sleeper and we try to keep all house noises out.

My dd (2yrs) sleeps in the pitch black with door shut.
My ds (5yrs.) sleeps with door open and a light on in hall.
So I picked other. I think it just depends on the kid.

I remember posting this same question forever ago and several ladies on here recommended keeping the doors closed b/c their hubbies are firefighters and said the same thing!
So DD's is always closed at naps and bedtime.

This is one of the reasons that DC's doors are always closed. Also, their bedrooms are on the 2nd floor, so if they aren't big enough to open the door on their own, they aren't big enough to go down the stairs on their own in the middle of the night.
It also makes it less likely that DS going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and walking past DD's room, will wake up DD. Or, if she's awake, she won't come out of her room and decide to play with DS.

Yes I do. But, in the winter, I have to open it b/c his room gets cold if the door is closed. They also say to close the door because if there is a fire in the house, it is an added protector from anyone in the room.
