Do you let DC CIO when teething, is she teething?
DD is 7 months & has never been a great sleeper but the last few night have been torture.
She's been letting out a few cries & falls back to sleep in the beginning of the night but at around 3 or 4am, she just cries & cries.
She won't fall back to sleep until 6am & then wakes up at 7 for the day.
I think she's teething but I've been thinking that for 3 months now.
She also had reflux when she was first born so maybe she still has some belly issues.
But what if it's nothing & she just wants attention in the middle of the night? It's been 3 nights so far so I don't want it to become a habit (especially if nothings wrong)
But I feel like something must be bothering her because we tried letting her cry but she wouldn't stop so we had to go in.
I feel like I never know what's wrong & don't ever know the right thing to do.

I was going through the same thing the last week and DD cut her first tooth on Sunday. We didn't give her anything because each time I went into the room (after a few minutes), she would stop crying. I didn't even have to pick her up, I would just rub her head and belly and she would fall back to sleep, so I didn't think she was "in pain". Now I know the signs and will be better prepared for the next tooth! It just really stinks sometimes that this is on the job training! Good luck and I hope she cuts a tooth soon!!!

I did CIO no matter what. . . I feel like DD was always "teething" so I wouldnt use that as an excuse to not CIO.

I feel like I never know what's wrong & don't ever know the right thing to do.
I seem to be feeling this way a lot lately.
No advice on this particular question, but it's a good one. Sucks they just can't TELL us what's wrong. At least we'd know if we were on the right track! Good luck!

I didn't do CIO when teething. DS was a horrible teether as well.

Sometimes DD cries out and will go right back to sleep a minute or two later. If she continues to cry I go in and pick her up. Sometimes she will just put her head down on me and go right back to sleep. If she continues to cry and is shoving her hand and anything else she can reach in her mouth I know she is in pain from teething and I give her Tylenol. I rock her and she falls asleep within 15-30 minutes. I don't like to be in pain, so why make her suffer?

If I think they are teething, I use a 2 day rule. I will go in there and soothe them not more than 2 days in a row. So I don't create a bad habit. I actually never really had to enforce my rule. They would only wake up on occassion.

I like this 2 day rule. Last night I was all ready to let her cry & thankfully she slept through. It's funny, it always seems like when I can't take it anymore & I'm about to loose it, she starts being an absolute angle, I think she just likes messing with mommy Must get that from DH
