Re: Do you fish?
Fishing in a lake or pond - throw it back. Fishing in the ocean and if it's legal size - keep and eat.

Re: Do you fish?
I don't fish but I would like to. If I caught it and it was edible then I would eat it. I did go on a fishing trip one time and I was so excited that I caught something. I have no idea what it was but it was small so they threw it back.
ETA: Isn't catch and release kinda mean? Catching and eatting it makes sense to me... catching and releasing doesn't.

I agree- I don't see the point of catch and release... why bother?

No catch and release is not mean. If you catch something that is under the legal limit you have to release it back it's the law.
Any good fisherman knows this and uses the proper hooks that do not damage the fish's mouth. Besides a fish's nervous system is not as developed as other animals so it really doesn't feel any pain.
FH owns a bait and tackle and he has to explain this all the time!
There are also big fines for keeping anything under the limit if you get boarded!
And this is also why i can only take the hook out of a fish if we are going to keep it BUT FH knows exactly how to get the hook out with minimal damage

Re: Do you fish?
But what I dislike is the people who catch and release just for fun...not that they are throwing it back because it is too small...they are just hooking it and tossing it back
