Do You Ever Go Away Without Your SO?
Whether it's Vegas, The Carribean, Atlantic City, Boston, etc ... Do you ever have a girls (guys) weekend?
DH & I go away separately a few times a year - he's been to bachelor parties in PA and AC and been off-roading with the guys for the weekend, hunting in the winter, a friends house upstate, etc, etc.
I've been to the Hamptons, AC, PA, Maryland, CT, etc.
We never go away for long, a few days here and there but I've never stopped him and he's never stopped me. It never occured to us.
So do you or your SO ever go away without each other for a weekend with their friends?

After 5 years of marraige and 8 years of togetherness, I went away w/o him for the first time last month. We hadn't spent a night apart since we were married. I was miserable!!!
Granted, it was only to Florida to visit family (maybe that's why I was miserable
 ), but I would not do it again any time soon! We missed each other terribly!!!

same here!! (except for the family part... )
we'd miss each other too much if we're apart for too long. couldn't do it for an extended period of time. 
however, there ARE those days where he gets on my last nerve, and then i'm like: "when DO you go back to work?????"

We have before the wedding, but since then we haven't. With our new jobs, and the new house, we barely have any time for ourselves. When we finally do have a free weekend we like to spend it together. We also have alot of the same friends so we go away in groups sometimes.
If something came up for him to do with the guys I wouldn't stop him, as if something came up for me he would be OK with it. I wouldn't be happy if this was something that went on all the time though. Every now and then is fine.
ETA: We got away without eachother for work all the time though He was in Chicago for 6 weeks for training in the beginning of the year. I often have to go to New Jersey for classes, and Westchester or Roanoake VA for pilots. In Oct. I have to go to Switzerland for a pilot, and Ray is going to Orlando in Sept. for more training I guess this is why we really have no time for trips with our friends.

I have gone away once without DH for two nights for a bridal shower in Florida. Wasn't too bad. But next week I am leaving for Florida for six days and DH told me last ngiht he is sad that I am leaving for so long. I didn't really think about it beforehand, but I am gonna miss him, but coming home will be great!!!

in our 2nd or 3 rd year of being together...I went to the caribbean with a friend...
It was my first trip to the caribbean, it was entirely free for me, and yet I feel like I rushed through it, I just want to get home to see Ryan....
I mean dont get me wrong it was an AWESOME trip...but I get home sick soooo easily...

I went to Florida once with the family. DH couldn't get off from work and I decided that I would NEVER go anywhere without him again . I had a terrible time!

That is like my sister and her husband. they go away together but they do go on trips without each other. Not often but they do. Her DH goes every year to Chicago to see the Bears play- and my sister gets him the tickets. I think its important to have your lives together and have some alone time as well.

Oh yeah. I have gone on trips with girlfriends, and my mom and my sister. I will go up to CT to see my mom or friends and spend the night without him. Plus I have trips all the time for my sorority. Sure we miss one another, but we are fine with it. I traveled for business all the time until last year, after we got married - so we have always been used to it. In fact DH leaves Sunday for FL for business and won't be back till Friday.

Yup. Three weeks after I was married I was in AC for the night for a dual bachelorette party that I threw. I'm also going to Key Largo in October for my sister's 40th birthday. Oh, and actually, this Saturday night I'm going to Jersey for a girl's night with my aunts, mom and cousins. I also head up to Connecticut for an overnight every few months with girlfriends from college that I don't get to see other than those weekends.
We wouldn't ever take like week long vacations without one another now that we're married but long weekends and overnights - of course! There are things that he likes to do that he'd have much more fun doing with guys than with me and the same goes for me with girls.
I can't imagine being in a marriage where we were afraid to tear ourselves apart from one another for a few nights. I'm just too independent, and so is he, to feel that we have to do everything together, and if it can't be together, we can't do it.

We never have except for he went on a few out of state interviews, and for programming competitions etc when he was in college, but we mostly do everything together. I don't think I would really want to go away without him. I've been ivnited a few palces with my best friend, and I'm not saying I defintiely wouldn't, but it's not the ideal situation for me, and I don't want to spend $$ that could go toward a trip with the two of us and leave him home, esp since we haven't been anywhere in over a year. I prefer us going somewhere together.

Before we got married, I had a yearly trip with my best friend...that changed for various reasons none of which had to do with getting married.
Post (& pre) marriage - I travel down to GA to visit my sister for anywhere from 10 days to a long weekend - a couple of times a year...DH travels for business - I've gone with him once, to Germany (and would go again).

DH hates NY, so I come home to NY a lot without him.
My friends and I try to get together once a year for a little weekend together..... haven't done it in 2 yrs bc we were saving for our wedding.

Yes, I have been to Fla a couple of times without him since we have been married. He is so funny becuase he will go to his mother's house to eat, and when I come home there is a ton of laundry waiting for me
