My very close friend knows what I make and I know what she makes.....We are very open about everything, so I don't see the big deal....I think my mom knows, too.....anyone else, I don't tell and I don't ask......

I wouldn't be offended if they were looking for a job in the same field as me & it was a pertinent question.

I'm pretty sure DH has told some of his friends how much I make. Most of their wives don't work because it wouldn't pay for them to work in terms of childcare. It pays for me to work.

I don't care that he shares that info. Maybe if I felt my self-worth was defined by my job, I would care more

One of my best friends knows what I make and I know what she makes. My friends will sometimes tell me good news that they got raises and such, but i'll never ask how much it is or anything of that nature. i don't think that's right.

MIL asked me how much I was making when I switched jobs. I told her that I don't feel comfortable talking about money...actually had to tell her 2x but eventually she got it. I'd give anyone else the same answer.
