Do you ever ask your friends how much money they make???
I dont cause i just think its rude and none of my business.
But one of my girlfriends asked me how much I make and I said "enough" and she got all mad that i wouldnt give her an exact dollar figure.
Am i the only one that feels its improper to ask someone how much they make?

I agree... I have one friend who asks me and everyone else we know... and ask how much is your mortgage, how much is your car payment, howmuch were those jeans, how much was your haircut.... 
The money questions never stop with her and then she goes on to say what everyone else pays. Drives me nuts!

i would never ask someone about there salary. its none of my business. if i'm interested in a car they got, i would ask them for a ballpark figure. at least then i would know how much i would need for a particular car

My close friends know how much money I make, and I know how much they make. It never came up in a conversation where someone asked, but it's just kind of common for us to talk about it since we're all at the point of buying homes, getting married, having kids. We have no secrets. But, those are my best and closest friends, so maybe 5 people.
I would NEVER EVER EVER ask anyone this question. I would also never answer is someone asked me. (Again, other than those few people that I am close with, we share freely).

however, all of my friends seem to work for the city or the govt so I basically know how much they make lol

only the ones who work in my industry and we need to compare when going on interviews etc
but no one would ask how much our DH make- nor would I ask someone who didn't work in my industry

I dont think they have ever asked. I also never asked any friends how much they make, just doesnt seem appropriate...no matter how close you are with them.

It depends who it is. A friend asked me today, how are we surviving if I don't work over the summer, I just said, I made enough over the year and saved and DH makes enough...I think they live paycheck to paycheck so they don't get it.
