Re: Do you curse a lot?
Yes. I have a terrible mouth. I have to really be very present with my thoughts when my kids are around. I have also had to teach them that certain words are 'adult only' words and should never be repeated. And that cursing is the lazy person's way of expressing themselves. Hopefully it sticks.

Re: Do you curse a lot?
Hehe I’m a ‘squid kid’ (otherwise known as a sailor’s kid)
I can and do cuss when I wanna. However, when I got what I considered a real job I had to curb it. It’s unprofessional and at my job it was grounds for immediate termination. I still find myself slipping into ‘clean’ language around children automatically only to be shocked by what they say themselves!
My best friend’s mother (who was very close to me) didn’t allow us to say D@mn or use God’s name in vain in anyway, or Jesus or say Hell. If we did (and yeah I did) she’d pull us in her room and make us pray for forgiveness. I finally got her to stop when I hit 18.
People just get comfortable talking with cuss words. And thinking every two seconds about the words coming out of your mouth, brings it to your attention even more. IMO

Re: Do you curse a lot?
I love cursing, its such a stress reliever-lol!I make sure not to do it in front of my kids..or in public...only in front of my DH(more for shock value! I love to see his reaction when the sweet shy girl he married says thinks that make HIM blush!lol) and in front of friends. As my buddy icons says..."Profanity-makes taking fun" lol!

Re: Do you curse a lot?
Almost never. And I find it uncomfortable when someone, especially a man, drops an F-bomb around me. I guess in the house I grew up in it was drilled into my head that cursing is not necessary for everyday conversation. I also find it rude and inappropriate to hear people drop F-bombs all the time. I don't have a problem with other curse words - just the F word.
My favorites are the guys that chit chat on the train at 7:00am and it's F this and F that. I had to turn around and say something - I just couldn't handle it.

Re: Do you curse a lot?
Not as much as I used to. I used to work in radio and one time on the air (in college) I let the S word slip out. I was so embarrassed and after that I started being a lot more attentive to it. Then after I became a teacher I am even more careful. The kids think "Stupid" is a bad word. If I don't practice a clean mouth at home I don't think I could control it.

Re: Do you curse a lot?
I didn't curse a lot until I started dating DH. He's a truck driver and it is VERY true when they say "Mouth like a truck driver"
Now that we have DD around we are both trying to cut back but it's hard!!

Re: Do you curse a lot?
I don't use the big bombs overwhelmingly often, but I am not afraid of them. I do use very unladylike language though. I like all the words used for male and female genitalia. Balls isn't a curse, but your bible loving SIL wouldn't love my use of it.
I used teh word "stupid" in front of friends kids, and they freaked.
I have a LOT of work to do on myself before Max Power comes.

Re: Do you curse a lot?
DH and i both do. a LOT. we don't see a problem with it as we are not around little kids a lot.
however, i was reprimanded by one father at six flags for saying, and i quote, "f*ck f*ckity f*ck f*ck fu*k."
i had no idea there was anyone behind me

Re: Do you curse a lot?
honestly, not at all. the worse i say is crap and that just started fairly recently (lol- i know- it's how i was raised though). growing up we didn't ever curse, and if we did we paid for it. The shear threat alone was enough to keep my brother and I both from not cursing. DH stopped cursing when he started dating me- it actually comes in handy b/c we're around our niece and nephews so much- we don't have to worry about slipping. My SILs mom is a different story- they're constantly reminding her.
