disposing of paint cans
how do I dispose of not quite empty paint cans? Do they go in the regular garbage?

No. Every few months at our town dump you can drop off hazardous materials. Maybe your town has soemthing similar.

Check with your sanitation dept. Ours will take them if you take the lids off and the paint is dry. There is also a drop off location for hazardous materials, which is what we might use in time. The previous owners left a lot of paint cans behind, and we changed most of their colors, so we don't need it.

thansk - I called the STOP number because I just missed a pick up date - apparently it can be brought to the dump at 1600 Merrick Road and they'll take it
