When is the construction starting? I was hoping to stay at the Poly also!!
Some work has already started but according to Tikiman the pool work will start in January but who knows how long it will last. That's why I'm hesitant.

Ive read itll be down from March till 2015. We were booked at Poly for May but no pool was a deal breaker and we switched to BLT.

Well, it seems we are also going to Disney in April-May 2014. Haven't booked it yet, but here we go again (we went last in December 2012).

FYI Poly construction doesn't mean NO pool. The volcano feature pool will close but the quiet pool will remain open. There are just a lot of question marks regarding the scope of the construction and the timeline so I'm reluctant. We stayed at the Poly about a month ago and we really didn't find the construction had much impact on us at all.

While it might not mean no pool to many families closing the main one is a big problem. I thought I read they can go to the GF pool. But...for families. One problem is you lose the slide, the zero entry for the very little ones, and correct me if they changed this but there are no life guards at the quiet pools as well.
So far the construction isn't too bad but I think it will get much more intrusive as they really get going. I think it is hard to have so much going on when you charge a premium for a resort like the Poly. I think a lot of people will skip it until it is complete or almost complete.

Disney 2014
We just booked our trip for March! We'll be staying at Old Key West for 8 days. Not our first choice but we're DVC owners and waiting to long to book lol. Should be fine though and the rooms are HUGE. Also did all my dining reservations and was able to get everything we wanted.

Well we were going to go early 2014 but I am due with DD #2 in April so plans on hold!! Can't wait till we can go again.

I just heard though that starting on 1/21-March the monorail won't be running between 11am and 7!! I'm so annoyed bc that is one of the reasons we chose a deluxe resort!

Disney 2014
We are going to disney from 1-18 to 25 also but were staying at Contemporary. Polynesian was my first choice but I heard about the construction and wasn't sure how it was going to affect the hotel.

I don't think the pool isn't closing until after we are there. From what I've read, the construction going on right now is unobtrusive but I hope I don't regret my choice! We got a great rate with the discounts but it's still expensive to be disappointed

That is great bc it is a great hotel. We enjoyed it. I think it is important to look at photos and read up. There are a lot of changes going on. Since you are going soon you will miss most. My friend isn't going until March so she was worried a lot can change. I think I saw on disboards a thread constantly updating but I honestly haven't read it or followed up.

We are leaving 2 months from today! I am running the princess half marathon with my df. We are bringing our dh's and kids and are all staying at the Yacht Club. Can't wait!

July 13-18th. We aren't sure of the resort.
we were staying at the shades of green but, that fell through. So we are looking offsite or one of the mod resorts.
