Disney 2014
My family is planning on going to Disney in 2014. We don't know the exact month we want to go but just thinking about it gets me sooo excited!! I love talking about Disney!! I am especially excited to see the new Fantasyland.
Anyone else plan on going in 2014?!!
This time I want to try the following restaurants:
-Kona Cafe
-Boma

We are! We started the Disney change fund already. We will go in either late August or one of the breaks in September if they fall correctly. While we love Saratoga Springs, I am hoping to stay at the Contemporary Bay Towers this time! The baby will be 3 (or days away from) so I can not wait for both my girls to do Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique together.

Mid may- early June.
We haven't done it since 2004. It's SO SO SO much fun, but DHS is crowded those days of course.

You can book your room as of 499 days before you check in, but packages for 2014 won't be released until later this year.

Is this resort good for young kids?
I think so, but it depends on what you want.
Pros: VERY close to Magic Kingdom. In fact it is the closest to MK, 8 minute walk. Amazing pool area and cool 2 story water slide. monorail access, electrical water pageant, can get great theme park view as well. VERY easy access to Chef Mickey's and all of the monorail resorts. Of course it's all Villas so you have the convenience of the kitchenette or full kitchen and with 1BR or above, laundry in the room
Cons: theme of rooms is not very Disney. it's ultra modern with a few Disney touches, but the hotel is not as themed as others. The pool area similarly is very "contemporary" There are no icons, other than a Mickey head on the slide. I do like it though since it's contained and it has beautiful palm trees, just very relaxing. Not as noisy as many of the other pools. The biggest complaint people have is they feel it's "cold" and doesn't have the "Disney Magic". My idea of Disney Magic is the walk to MK and the INCREDIBLE view from the TP View rooms as well as from the bridge between BLT and the Contemporary Resort.
ETA: The pool also has a kiddie slide and zero depth entry

I keep hearing that the parks have alot of rides closed in Jan.. did you run into any problems?

Hoping to go in spring of 2014! Will only stay at a monorail resort (we are spoiled) and haven't tried the Grand Floridian yet so we may stay there, if not it will be the Polynesian which is our current favorite. I can't wait!

I get excited thinking about it too. So does my DD (4).
Want to get really excited? Order the free WDW planning video. My DD loves to watch it, just to see the parks, rides, etc.

same here. We stayed at the Contemporary last time. This time I want to try either the GF or Poly!!!

yep...I have that video too!!! We watch it all the time!!
We love that video!i also love the disney shows that sometimes come on the travel channel lol

The only thing that was closed while we were there was Splash Mountain which I didnt care bc DD is still a little too young for it. The week after we left (so this week) the main pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge was be refurbished, but we didnt use the pool while we were there anyway bc we spend 99% of our time in the parks, so that would not have bothered us either I guess.

Disney 2014
We have a trip planned for April 2013, the Fantasy in August 2013 and 2014 and I think we are either going back to the parks around christmas time or in March/April 2014. As you can see we like disney lol. I am actually trying to talk DH into going on the new NCL Breakaway out of NY next year. It looks awesome and I'm itching to go!
