Re: Did you get mail today?
Posted by CSK
Am I the only one who thinks that this is pointless? I certainly don't need my mail daily. Packages I like being delivered most days, but mail, I could care less. My mail consists of bills. The rest are advertisements that the US Government essentially subsidizes the delivery of.
I like my mailman. I think it is a huge waste of his effort to deliver on the storm day and even on these super cold days. IMHO it is too great a risk of falling, freezing etc.
I'm assuming those in really cold regions have mailboxes at the curb and the mail carrier can deliver from his/her truck. Or there are other provisions for this.
I'd personally like to see mail go down to twice a week.
I agree. I barely get any mail these days, all our bills are electronic, i don't get magazines anymore...

I agree, I check my mailbox 1 or 2x a week. It's always just a pile of junk. Anything important gets emailed to me. I get so irritated with regular mail; catalogs from hundreds of stores (some I've never even shopped at), postcards from businesses, credit card offers, it's all just a pile of solicitations. Does anyone actually order from catalogs anymore? If I want to buy something, I find it online.
People get so annoyed with email spam, I think mailbox ads are far more annoying. I can just hit delete if it's in my inbox. With the crap in my mailbox I have to carry it into the house, sort it to figure out what can be recycled, and the rest goes right in the trash.
