Did anyone deny the Hep B shot in the hospital?
and when did you state this wish? Was it received well?
I can't remember if they asked me before hand or if they just did it...but this time, I want to wait a bit.
Anyone have any insight? Particularly with Stony Brook Hospital?

I did.
They asked and I said I wanted to do it with my ped.
I had to sign a waver and they were totally fine with it.
I delivered at Stonybrook

I declined it, and signed a form stating my DD wasn’t receiving the shot. My ped had no problem with it at all.

they came around and asked a couple of hours after dd was born but we choose to wait. She just got it at her 3month appt.

We declined the shot at the hospital, no problems with the per or the hospital. I delivered at Beth Israel.
We got it when DS was 2 months. His doctor only recommends it at birth if the mother has it or is at risk.

I denied it too, I wrote a letter to all the nurses/caretakers on everything I wanted and didn't want. I don't know if it made me look crazy, I guess, but I didn't know what state I'd be in.
They double checked and asked me anyway.

For both kids I denied it at the hospital so that the ped could give it. Never had a problem and just had to sign that it was offered but I declined.

we declined-no need to have a newborn go through that. what newborn is at risk for hep b, anyway?
