Re: Designer Baby clothes
I buy some designer clothing for Ella at times. Especially if I can find very nice dresses.

Oh, Neiman Marcus had an online sale about 1 month ago and I was able to buy Lily dresses for like 30 bucks and I got a few Splendid outfits for 25.00!! I also got DS a juicy polo shirt for 15.00. I love bargains!

I buy quite a bit of DD's clothes at Denny's, but usually when they are having a sale. If you can get to their end of season sales, its usually 50-80% off the entire store.
Same here--I refuse to pay full price there because their sales can be so good! The only other designer stuff DD has are gifts that people have given her. Otherwise its too expensive!

Re: Designer Baby clothes
I did not even know that some of the designers mentioned here make baby clothes. When my MIL wanted to buy me a layette at Dennys, at first I thought we should go someplace less expensive. Then we went to Dennys and I got totally hooked. I would consider some of Dennys items to be designer: Mish Baby, Coccoli, Baby Steps. I like Coccoli for the design and quality and I could care less if anyone has heard of it, or of there is a label showing. I plan to check out Century 21. I bought my niece so much stuff there when she was a baby. Dylan's clothes will probably always be a mix of things I paid full price for and things I got at major discounts.

I didn't know if Carters was considered designer? Its sold at Macy's so what do I know...
I haven't had to buy Sofia any clothing at all yet... She is blessed..
I do need baithing suits....
Denny's.. I have to go there I guess I never heard of it...
There is a Denny's about 5 minutes from me, you guys should come out here one day and we can go
and the only time I'll buy him designer is if they're on a good sale or for an occasion.

Re: Designer Baby clothes
yep, I buy DH designer duds but you would never know that everything I buy is a sale item ...
It is also lethal that Denny's is across the street from me!!
Now that I know my second will be a girl I am sooo in trouble... but the bargain shopper that I am, I bought my entire layette at the Denny's 75% off sale and at Century 21.. and it is all boutique stuff...

Re: Designer Baby clothes
Both my kids have designer clothes - that are either hand-me-downs from my nephews and nieces, or they were given as gifts. I don't spend that kind of money on clothes - not even for me. If I am in Century 21 and I see something at a reasonable price, then I may pick it up if I can't resist!

Re: Designer Baby clothes
Some but I dont look for it often..say like others say, just pointless..grows out of stuff too fast.
good places too is TJMaxx and Marshalls, where I get Guess, Ralph Lauren, CK and Century21 is awesome too,..carry all those names for 1/2 the price.
I did real good there recently. Im a bargain shopper and honestly dont have the money to put her in those types of outfits.

Re: Designer Baby clothes
i don't but my friend bought my ds a crap load of designer stuff he has a juicy sweat outfit, lucky onesies, ikks (?), charlie rocket and a whole slew of other items from boutiques that i've never heard of. - everyone at daycare loves his outfits but i would never spend the amount of $$$ on his clothes that she has....we're very lucky!!!

We are a mix too-they grow so fast and get so messy. I love that our designer duds for DD are free lol Although there are certain things like infant leather jackets I bought for DD #1 that I saved for DD#2.

Re: Designer Baby clothes
my DD wears lots of big designer clothes, but that's only b/c a friend of mine works for a very nice designer store in Manhattan and gets them for my DD, there is no way I would buy designer clothes for my DD no matter how much money I have, it's just not worth it, she is going to spit up on them and stain them with food or she is going to outgrow them so....I 'd rather wait till she is much older to buy her designer clothes(if ever) don't really care for labels much and I hope she doesn't either or she can buy them when she starts making her own money

Re: Designer Baby clothes
DH and I were looking at a magazine and he was marveling in how expensve baby clothes can be when he saw an outfit at $200 for a baby girl.
I told him thats what aunt's and grandmothers were for. WE will shop outlets, sale racks and Target.
My sister and I bought our nephew a $300 snow suit when he was a baby - but it was from 3 of us and it was our pleasure to do.

Re: Designer Baby clothes
Sometimes I do! She has a few Burberry, Juicy, Lily Pulitzer oufits. I try to only buy them when they are on sale.
Tom & Susi's in Woodbury has cute designer stuff and they have decent sales, but not a huge selection. They also have really cute swimsuits but more for toddlers and girls then babies.
There is also a Denny's in Douglaston, Queens.
