daycare moms...(in home or out..)

if your DC is in some sort of daycare how many times a day do you call and check in?

i usually call once in the morning between 9:30-10am, and then again in the afternoon.

i feel like im bothering them by calling.

am i a nut for calling twice a day? he's only there 3 days a week.

DD is in daycare 2 days per week.

I never call (but I can check in on her with their webcam which I do once or twice a day)

The 1 day she is home with my MIL, I call twice just to check in.

When DS was in daycare I called once a day the first few days, then not at all unless he had a bad night and I wanted to check on him. I trusted them to let me know if something was wrong.

ETA: When my nanny started last week I called once the first day, then texted once or twice the other days. I have not texted her yet today, I've been too busy. I know she'll let me know if she needs anything.

I never call unless it's for some reason:

Like trying a new food or somethign..or if he was sick the day before. other than that I don't call.

I don't call at all. I usually go visit her at lunch on most days, but when I don't go visit I still don't call.

They have called me a couple times, once for a rash she had, and once she was crying a lot(and she never does).

never.. unless its for something medical. Like please remember to tuck her pants into her socks so she doesn't scratch.

Even then its not to see how she's doing but to provide instructions. I think I've called once or twice after she was sick to see how she was holding up.

I have webcams here but I can't see her until I'm home. Which sort of defeats the purpose, huh?

I call my Dad to see if he's watching her.

DD has been in daycare FT and PT over the last 2.5 years.

I have never called to check in. I never felt the need to. If something is wrong, they call me.

I usually don't call.

I called twice the first day, once a day after that for the rest of the week and then stopped.

I call if she has been sick or if I think she's getting sick.

I called a few times a couple of weeks ago because I just potty trained DD and I wanted to check on her progress and making sure that they weren't being lazy and just leaving her in a pull up all day (not that I had any real reason to suspect this but just in case).

When my DD was in Day Care in a center, I called every day at lunch. She was only there for four months and the last few weeks I stopped calling every day, when I became comfortable.

I called the first week he was there. After that I only called if I had a question or it was somethinig I forgot to tell them.

ok..so apparently im the lunatic mother who calls everyday..LOL

they must think im out of my mind over there.

I will say though that DS in PA where we live and im at work in nY, so its like my only connection to him during the day.

i never call. they know to call me if somethings up(even if it doesnt mean he has to be sent home)... the new foods they write down on the baby gram that comes home each day.....

if i & every other parent called all the time then they'd keep interupting the class to check, so i just let them do their own thing.

I've only called once to check in on DS and have never checked on DD. It was a day when DS was really sluggish and tired and I couldn't figure out why. Otherwise, I don't call. I figure if something is up, they'll call me.

When DS #1 first started (he's almost 3 yrs old now), I called twice per day. It gradually got less and less as time passed.

When DS #2 started, I called at least once per day to check on both of them. Now DS #2 is 13 mos old so I honestly only call if one of them had a bad night/morning. They call me if one of them gets the smallest bump or scratch so I know they'll call me if it's important.

DS is in a center 2 days a week, I have never called. I just figure if there is something wrong, or something I need to know about, they will call me. If not, I just assume all is fine.

when we started the new daycare i called once a day for a few days just to see how he was doing - other than that i havent called anymore

Once a day and trying to break the habit. LOL
Now that i have two in daycare it is a PITA because they have to bring the phone to each room so i can get a report (or sometimes i don't ask about Colin since he's usually always fine)
