Re: cutting babies hair before one = bad luck?
I've heard of it.
I didn't cut DD's hair before she was a year old but that's because she didn't have anything to cut!
DS doesn't look like he's in danger of having too much hair either.

I cut my DD's bangs before she was one. They grew in with little points at the edges and I just needed them cleaned up.

I had to give DS #1 a haircut before he turned 1. Not only was he starting to get a mullet, he was looking like a girl.

People believe in all different kinds of things - I personally don't buy into anything being 'bad luck' -
Sean had his 1st haircut at 4 months, and probably every 6 weeks since then !!!

I have heard of it, but personally think that it is kinda silly(JMO) Also, as a hairdersser, I can tell you that sometimes with girls, you just have to wait it out with their hair. Once you get past the crazy stage when they are little, it gets better. I usually dont like to cut baby girls hair too early unless it is VERY uneven or they have lots of hair and the mom wants bangs.
then i'm enlisting your help- what do i do with DD hair!?!?!??!?
These little rubberbands will be your best friend. They can not pull them out. You can pull the top section out of her face and off to the side. If you start early, she most likey will get used to having things in their hair:)
Peyton has one of the rubberbands in her hair in this pic, like I was talking about. I just put a bow over it. IMAGE
oh yeah, i use elastics often, she has pigtails in right now!!! she doesn't mind things in her hair at all, thank goodness!!
question about parts & cowlicks... she has many cowlicks- how do i handle them if possible? and can i change a part or it is just going to stay where it is (the natural part)?
As her hair gets longer, the weight of her hair will make the cowlicks lay down. As far as the part goes, it is usually best to work with the natural part.

Re: cutting babies hair before one = bad luck?
I heard it. And I tried to wait. When DS was 11 months his hair was getting unruly! The woman who cut my MILs hair agreed to do it, then she found out he was 11 months old, so we compromised and she just did his sides.

Re: cutting babies hair before one = bad luck?
Yup this is a No No in my family. I guess its superstition. DS was bald until almost 2y/o and DD's hair just gets curlier so she won't need a haircut for a while. Lucky for me or I'd have to hear my fams mouth about cutting before one
