Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
Hello! What do you think of adding crown molding to the bedrooms? Do you have it in your house?

DS's bedroom has it and we're planning to do the master bedroom very soon. I think it will look great!

Re: Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
None yet, but that's mainly because my "Honey Do" list is pretty long.... it's definitely something I'd like to do in most of the rooms, even the bedroom (at least the master). Not sure about DC's room, but if I get on a roll, I might.

Re: Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
We have it in our Master Bedroom but not in the other bedrooms yet. Eventually, we'll have it throughout the house. :)

Re: Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
we put it in our bedroom... it's just the little corner peices not total crown molding. we did that because the walls are warpy and so is the ceiling so cutting the regular molding wasn't working right. so we did this to "hide" the imperfections ...
it's so simple to DIY

Re: Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
We only have it on our dining room, but I'd love to put t everywhere.
I know it's fairly easy to do, but I know DH can't doe it - or I should say won't.
Anyone know a handy man in Nassau that would do it - I'd love to start with DD#2's nursery.
Thanks!

We have it in every room except the nursery and bathrooms. We weren't going to do our master but we did and I'm so happy we decided to, it looks amazing in there.

Re: Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
We did a buildup in the master bedroom and a 5" in the master bath. DC's rooms have a 4" crown, I believe, but I would eventually like to make it a buildup as well.
We have a buildup in the hallway. Main bath has 5" crown.
Our dining room was the first room we remodeled and DH was inexperienced with crown moulding, so we used the corner blocks. We plan on removing that crown and doing a buildup with coped corners (now that DH has plenty of experience with them.)
Family room is a bit awkward with the wall and ceiling layout (vaulted ceiling adjacent to an 8' flat ceiling), so we don't have crown.
Kitchen doesn't have a crown, but we haven't remodeled/updated that room yet.

We plan to do it in every room, even the bedrooms-but our list is so long right now, and this is at the end of it.

Re: Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
we installed it in our bedroom. I also plan on installing it everywhere else with the exception of our finished garage which will have cathedral ceilings, our kitchen, bathroom and hallways. Our hallways/entry is too small for crown and it would overwhelm it.
I really need to take better pics this weekend.

Do you have any pics of your hallway/entryway?
I find that crown moulding makes rooms like bigger and the ceilings higher.

We have it in 2 bedrooms. We still plan on gutting our small, 3rd bedroom and will put it there, too!

Re: Crown Molding In Bedrooms?
Entry is basically a 20sqft area (i only know this because i just got the tile) with 8ft ceilings. BUT i just thought of it since I am adding crown to the living room/dining room i am going to have to add crown to the entry because its all open. DUH!
The hallway is narrow with 8ft ceilings. I think the crown would accent that narrow/long feeling instead of making it look better but now their would be crown everywhere else i might change that. Crown is cheap enough to buy just install is expensive unless you have someone to do it cheap/diy.

Put the crown up! Trust me!!! Our hallway is less than 4' wide with 8' ceilings. We just put crown up this month and now the hallway looks wider and the ceilings look higher.
