Cost of 3yo nursery school, 3x/week

I just got the info for next year, for my DD's school. For us, tuition is unaffordable, and I don't know what to do.

The school is excellent, but the 3yo go 3x week. It's $225/ child per month. We have twins, which puts it at about $450/mo. We can't afford it. I'm so upset. I have to find something else

Is this a lot of $? Is 3x week normal?

I think that's pretty average from what I have seen. Is it full days?

My boys are in the prek program but the 3 yr old program is priced the same. They go 3x a week for 2.5 hrs & it's $402 a month for both. We get a discount for the second child. When we researched, it was the cheapest we found

Usually they give a sibling discount. I don't think that amount sounds unreasonable. My DD is 3 and goes 5 days a week 9-1 and it is almost $1000 a month (with lunch and a few other fees). Good luck.

That's what ours is too for only 3 hours/3 times a week. Would they do a discount for two kids?

I think that's a great price. Ours is a little over $300 for the same thing. 3 days a week for 3 hours.

Maybe check out the churches around you? Our church has a preschool program and I pay 150 a month per kid for 2 days a week, 2.5 hours a day for my twins. Next year for the 4 year old program it goes to 180 a month per child for 3 days a week 2.5 hours a day.

I have to pay for fulltime preschool/nursery school so to me that sounds awesome but from what I hear that sounds about right.

I assume your district doesn't have a scope or universal preschool? if not I would look into neighboring ones because I know some take out of district it might be a little cheaper. look into catholic/monasteries schools maybe there cheaper.

Comparatively, that's really cheap.
I get a certain $ tax free. It helps.

Yeah, that's on the low end, at least where I am. Do you need to send thr, or you just want to ? If you don't need to, there are tons of free/ low cost mommy and me type classes at the local library, the y etc. I see them on my town's Facebook page all the time.

Ours just went up and i think its kinda pricy now.

3x week 3 hours is $377 a month.


Check your local HS too. not sure what area you are in, but I now some HSs have teaching/childcare classes and they basically run a preschool. I know Nortport HS has it and Smithtown West. Also if possible for you check co-op schools. They are generally less $ but you are required to help in the classroom 1x a month (I could be wrong on the # of times)

That's actually pretty good. I pay $260 for 3 days a week, 2.5 hours. And it's a co-op so I have to help out in the class room 1-2x a month and volunteer for other things.

Second thats a great price. My dd is 2 and 3xweek and i pay $375 a month

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but that's a really reasonable price. I payed closer to $400 a month for one kid.

Yes its crazy! I planned to put DDs in a program in Jan 2x/wk for 2 hr and it was $375 for both with discount. Can't afford it. :( The twin discount isn't that much.

ETA, there is a cheaper program for 3 yo nursery school in my area but its lottery and there is a chance one twin will get chosen and not the other. Which is really dumb b/c no one will put their ONE child in and not the other.

That seems pretty reasonable but, schools usually give a sibling discount.

Also - are there co-op schools in your area? Those tend to be cheaper since you have to volunteer to work in the class.

DD goes 3 x a week- but it's also daycare so she goes all day- 8 am until 6 pm.
Meals are included
They do their nursery school thing and this year at 4 years old their Pre K thing and the rest of the day is day care.

I pay just about $1000 a month - but again she is there over 8 hours a day.
