Cord around baby's neck
Anyone have this? Docs said it usually resolves itself before delivery, but I'm a little concerned. My little one has gone and wrapped it around not once, but twice. No one seems too concerned, but now I go for NSTs once a week and well being sonograms every two weeks. They said as long as he's growing and otherwise looking good- no reason to worry. He is small, but Sasha was small too. I'll be 34 weeks on Monday.

Cord was twice around Ann's neck when she was delivered - no issues.

DS had the cord around his neck too. I didn't have a sono after my level ii so they didn't know until delivery and everything was fine.

same with DS..i forget if it was wrapped once or twice. but he was also vaccuum assisted out of the canal. I wasnt told beforehand that the cord was wrapped during any of my sono's though.

yes i found out at 33 weeks the cord was around the neck....went to the doc today and had a sono and its not wrapped around the neck anymore!!! it stinks but all you can do is try not to worry and pay attention to movements!

Hi! I have experience. DD's cord was around her neck at 30 weeks and then moved by 32 weeks. Then...she went and did it again at 34 weeks and it is still there! I am currently 36 weeks. It is not ideal BUT doctors are very reassuring.

DD was born with the cord around her neck. No one knew it until she was born and there it was! Thankfully, all worked out just fine!

Exactly the same with my DS, only it was wrapped around once.

my DD had the cord wrapped once at birth. we didnt even know beforehand. she was a 33w preemie (unrelated to the cord) and weighted just 3lbs 8oz so with that and the cord issue i am amazed she was crying at birth (even though I was asleep and didnt get to hear it  ). but it didnt pose any problems at all.

DS was delivered with it around his neck twice. He was fine, and is fine. I had no idea it was until the day after he was born when DH told me.
It happens a lot. It's just because we are monitored more often than babies in the past, that we are made aware of these issues before birth.
Try not to worry about... :)

thanks for all the positive stories and reassurance. I think we have this idea that it's a horrible thing based on stories and old technology, and medical dramas on TV.
I hope this kid gets himself untangled so I can just cross one thing off my "Worry List".

My friend's wife had to have an emergency c section because it was wrapped around 6 times. But I dont know if they knew in advance or not but the baby is 100% healthy!
