Congrats to dpli
Your avatar made it through a whole year. You are like the neighbor that leaves Christmas lights up all year long. In February we think any day now that Santa on the roof will come down. In June we accept this is the way things are going to be and then around November time we start thinking oh don't change it now you made it this long.
In July when it was 273 degrees I would look at Santa and think he must be roasting in that big red suit. Now in December he looks cozy much unlike your son. I hope your son had a better reaction to him this year

OMG, I am totally laughing my azz off over here.
The funniest part about this thread (other than Phyl's post) is that I was on here tonight adding a bunch of photos to my FB page and when I signed on here, I was thinking "Wow, maybe I should update the avatar with this year's Santa photo? Would anyone even notice that it's a new photo?"
should I start a poll?
And after this thread, MeNBobs, I BETTER be getting this year's Christmas card FM'ed to me.
ETA: For those who were wondering, we got a much better reaction to Santa this year!

oh god, i WISH i had a scanner to scan the picture i have of my sister and my brother -- at about ages hmm jenn was about 8/9 years old and kenneth about 4/5 years old. jenn (on one knee) sitting there in her sunday best dress with the biggest, most perfect smile on her face. her posture: perfect. kenneth, on the other knee, trying desperately to get away as if Santa had been on 'To Catch a Predator', his face BRIGHT red, his mouth wide open in hysterical SCREAM, with tears streaming down his face.
jenn: acting like it's not happening, smiling perfectly.
