I drive a total (round trip) of 14 miles a day. I have to get gas in my car every other week or so, and it costs about $75 now/month for me to get gas.

LIRR = $206/monthly
Subway - I usually get by with a $40-$50 card b/c I either walk one way or take a company car home if I work late.
I don't drive to the train station (I walk) but lease a car which I only drive on weekends for errands.

I'd say about $6 a day. Since I go about 20 miles each way that works out to approx. 2 gal of gas or so. It goes up of course on days where the traffic is really heavy.
