Re: Circumcision

I know someone who was born very early and his twin brother had passed shortly after birth. His mother didn't want to cause anymore "trauma" and besides that he was hypospadias (sp?), therefore, he was never circumsized. When he was in the 4th grade, he asked his mother and father if he could have it done and they were very supportive. He said it in simple words "it was a pain in the butt".

Re: Circumcision

we will if its a boy also, BUT i have read up on this and many people do not do it anymore. It is not bc of sanitary reasons, it is more a cosmetic thing. People in other countries do not do it and we in the USA do it bc we think it is necessary and "better looking"

I am chosing to do this even though parents are not doing it as often anymore if my husband and i have a boy

Both my boys are not and although I hope they never have any problems I personally think it makes more sense to have it performed if something comes up and it is medically necessary rather than to just do it because I think it will look nicer.

I go by the "if it ain't broke" rule.

And although some women don't like uncircumcised men. Some actually like them better. So that doesn't worry me at all.

I agree. We chose not to circumsize our son. My DH is not and he's never had any issues. Thus we saw no reason to have it done.

Re: Circumcision

we did with both boys...It could cause problems later on down the road.
My DH's cousin is 40 years old and had to be circumcised, because he was having problems.
