Can you register at BBB or BRU and keep it private?

Can you register at BBB or BRU and keep it private?
If you register at one of those stores does the registry always come up if someone searches for it? Is there a way to keep it private unti you are ready or completed? I don't want to register (my 3rd child I feel weird even though halfmy stuff is 6 yrs old now) but some of my family wants to buy some items I do need but it can't be done before the baby is born (didn't find out the sex and want to buy room decor/bedding after baby is born). I want to put the things out there for the family to buy (give them maybe my online password access)once the baby is born but don't want others to find it and order anything that was meant for the family to buy or that I don't want because it is for the opposite sex. I figured I can print it out and just give the list to the family and say these for a girl these for a boy and only they will know.

I know with BRU, you can create a wish list. I don't know if these things are publicized online or not.
You may have to ask each individual stores for their privacy policies.

You can create the registries under an alias and then change it to your real names whenever you want. That's what i did. For BBB you need to call them and ask them to change it b/c you cannot do it on your own. I don't know about BRU

This is what I did too. When I went to BBB, we put a fake last name so that DH and I could still view it online and make changes. BRU, I just created myself online with a bogus name. Once we find out the gender, we will finalize both registries and change the names so people can find them.

Thanks guys....A friend also suggested putting it under my maiden name. Will use a wrong name!
