can i just vent....so upset
i did my first round of clomid with my obgyn and was told which days to BD and then went for bloodwork on CD22 to see if i ovulated.
we havent BD since day 22 bc we were exhausted from all of it (BD CD 12-22).
well i finally got a call back 5 days after my bloodwork that this is actually the week im ovulating. im so upset bc we havent been BD'ing at all. we missed our week. i really thought i was PG bc i had weird feelings on my side and alot of CM....nope, that was just ovulating.
why did my doctors office wait so long to call me with the results, i had to call them!!
my advice to anyone taking clomid, dont waste your time with your obgyn. you need to be monitored. i wish i listened to everyone on these boards instead of just seeing what happens bc now im really upset.

this is exactly why you shouldn't take IF treatments with your OBGYN.
Back in Feb. i went in after I took clomid for a Progesterone test to see if I O'd. That was on a Friday. On Tuesday I called for the results and they told me that I had not ovulated strongly enough on the 50mg of Clomid.
Now, when I had the appointment, I had to make it with another Dr. since my regular OBGYN was delivering a baby. No big deal i thought...
Thank God I called for the results! This back up doctor didn't call me until, you ready? 29 days after I took the exam!!!!!! When he called I couldn't figure out why he was calling until he told me and I was so annoyed that I flat out told him its a good thing I called myself the Tuesday after because I would have been old and gray waiting for your phone call. He was annoyed but oh well, you don't wait 1 month to give someone results.
Please go to an RE and start working with them, they will be much more able and better equipped to help you with this journey.

When you're on clomid it's best to get bloodwork AND ultrasounds. Also, you may want to use a trigger shot to ensure timing will be right...no 10 days of BDing in a row!
If you're having trouble TTC I'd recommend making an appt with an RE who will monitor you really closely. GL!

is it bad to ovulate on day 30+? i feel like i read somewhere its a better chance of htings going bad. also, does a trigger make you O sooner?
thanks for all your support and advice ladies. i would still be crying if i had nowhere to vent! this is one emotional rollercoaster, i hope im strong enough for the ride!

I don't think it matters much what day you ovulate. What does matter is the number of days you have b/w ovulation and your next AF - leaving enough time for an embryo to implant!
A trigger should would ensure you ovulate about 36-40 hours later. The dr would monitor your follicles and when they reach a certain size, you inject the trigger. It just ensures you're timing everything correctly. And if you don't usually O on your own, it ensures that you will.
I'd make an appt with an RE and begin getting tested. I always err on the side of sooner than later. Good luck!
