Can I have some honest opinions?
We are looking for a couch for the playroom. Went looking today and I found a denim couch that might work but I'm not sure if that is tacky or not.
The reason why I am considering it is that all the pillow covers and even the slip covers are washable. Seems really functional for a playroom.
I am attaching a picture of the room, the couch and the paint color the room will eventually be. It looks odd on the screen but it is a very light green (BM green frappe).

I think that is really cute for a playroom! Not tacky at all!
Another option is a futon with removeable cover - thats what we have in our playroom.

If the sale price is right, I think it is perfect for a play room. I would still try to enforce good habits (i.e. no drawing on furniture, no eating on furniture). The fact that it is washable is a huge plus. I think it is fine to go with denim for a kids play room.

i dont LOVE the denim but it looks super comfy. you will want to cover it anyway so go for it!!

Honestly, I dont like it... Not even for a playroom... Its still a room in my house, whether cluttered by toys or not and i wouldnt want something tacky... I think the covers being removeable is awesome but the denim just really throws me off...

Ikea has couches that have removable slipcovers. It's the Ektorp collection and it looks pretty similar to the one you picked out but you can get it in the 2 seat, 3 seat, and some other options with a chaise attached or a sectional. Not only do the seat and back slipcover come off but that whole back piece comes off as well and is washable. We had two of these couches in white....gasp I know BUT white is bleachable and we have cats and eat in the living room, etc so they would look brand new after a wash with bleach. They are pretty cheap too and come in many colors. I think they have a navy blue, white, red, flower pattern, and beige. Not sure what else they have.

I was going to say Cindy Crawford makes a denim sofa but I'm pretty sure what you posted is it.
It normally retails for like $800 so go you.
Here are some reviews from Raymour regarding that couch. Almost ALL are great.

I still would pass no matter where its going. Why not just get a cheap sofa and put slipcovers on it? I still prefer neutral, but thats JMO.

I vote Nay 'cus I'm not a big fan of denim unless they are on my bottom half.
If you're looking for practical, go for microfiber washable cover sofas. I have that in a beige color plus an accident prone toddler and cat and LOVE it. You can pretty much wipe anything clean off it with just some warm water and there won't be any stains.
Microfiber also feels so much better than denim - a soft suede but can take alot more wear and tear and still look new.

Here are some reviews from Raymour regarding that couch. Almost ALL are great.
It is from the Cindy Crawford collection. They had it at the clearance center. I looked into into other cheaper sofas and even the Ektorp, but I thought the quality of this couch was better. We got it for just under $500 with shipping, so not bad!
I know there were a lot of nays along with the yays. In the end, we bought it because of the durability of the fabric and the removable slip covers! Everything else in our house is very neutral so we thought we'd change it up a bit in the playroom.
I will post an update once we decorate the room.

like it for a playroom couch! Fun for kids! I have denim valances in my playroom that look like overalls. I like them and think they're cute.
