C-section ladies - pants question.

If you had a c-section, what kind of pants did you wear in the hospital? With my first, I was pretty much in the gown 24/7, but this time I plan to make myself a little more presentable (if possible!). All my leggings are over the bump. Would those irritate the incision?

I wore yoga pants. AS long as they aren't touching your incision you should be fine.

I wore yoga pants and leggings. This is going to sound strange but The nurses actually had me take a pad and put the soft part on the incision as extra padding between my underwear/pants and the incision so it wouldn't irritate it. It really helped!

That's actually a great idea! With my other 2 sections I pretty much wore the gown the whole time too but I would like to try and get dressed this time around.

I wore maternity leggings. They didn't irritate the incision. At home I wore giant sweatpants.

I wore yoga pants. My nurse gave me a huge gauze pad that is used on another surgical floor and put it over the incision then the mesh underwear over it. It was really comfortable and they gave me a bunch to take home and use which I did. I wore them until I had the staples removed

I did the same. I wore sweats, pajama pants, and yoga pants and all were fine. The only thing I didn't like was underwear with the stiffer elastic which I found irritating. I remember running out of those pads after I got home and really wishing I had more!

Re: C-section ladies - pants question.

I wore loose pajama pants. But you really can't wear anything but the gown til they remove the iv and epidural because you can't run the wires through your clothes. I brought 4 days worth of clothes (mostly pj/loungewear) hoping the same as you but could only wear them on day 3 (day the wires came out) and 4 (which was th day I came home anyways).

I was so swollen from my blood pressure that I couldn't wear any of my regular pants. DH went to Walmart and bought me mens pajama pants in like a size large with draw strings. They were a life saver

Vera Wang Pajama Pants and Old Navy Lounge Pants. They were so soft and comfy; no issues at all.

C-section ladies - pants question.

Pants shouldn't be an issue at all. My incision is so low pants would never come near it. It's below your bikini line so thinks about underwear not really pants

I wore cute pj pants the entire stay. I found yoga pants and leggings irritated my incision. For me, loose was the way to go.

This is what I wore and what the nurses had me do in the hospital. It definitely helped.

Same here. My mom also went out and bought me underwear in a bigger size.

The nurses also had me out a pad on my incision. It worked well.

C-section ladies - pants question.

I wore maternity sweats and leggings, I was able to shower within 24 hours of the surgery. I wanted out of the gown ASAP

I was still hooked up to IVs but they disconnected them for me to shower.

In the hospital? I didn't wear pants. They were checking my incision so often it would've been annoying. I was in a gown until I could shower. Then I put on a nightgown.

Re: C-section ladies - pants question.

I woremailed black PJ pants and yoga pants. They used surgical glue to close the incisions and honestly nothing really irritated it.

Re: C-section ladies - pants question.

I actually brought some nursing night gowns from home. The first day they spend so much time checking you that it was more convenient (for me anyway) to have a nightgown on. I just kept a robe on top and a blanket over my legs. I wore a maxi dress home and I had some yoga pants that I wore at home. Didn't bother the incision at all.

Pajama pants or nonmaternity sweats. No issues with the staples, etc.
