C/s mom: was your DC born in respiratory distress?

I had a c section for my twins at 35w6d and both had sugar problems, both were jaundice and one was on a C-PAP machine for a few days. She desaturated (stopped breathing and oxygen level dropped) and she had to stay in the NICU for 7 days total. After they desaturate, the automatically keep them in the NICU for about 5 days to monitor them so after that happened around the 2nd or 3rd day in the NICU she had to stay the extra days even though it didn't happen again.

I had 2 c-sections and neither of my babies were in respiratory distress.

My SIL had 2 c sections, no respiratory distress. She did have cholestasis with #2

I had 2 c/s;DS was born with RD at 35 weeks (more of the reason why) but DD who was 36 weeks was fine no NICU needed. Trying hard to prevent that with this pregnancy(preterm deliveries).

my DD was born via emergency c-section at 33w1d due to severe preeclampsia and HELLP
she had the cord wrapped around her neck.
even with all that against her, her initial apgars were 8 and 9 even though she had to go to the NICU and get oxygen for a few days

I had one vaginal birth and one scheduled C (due to placenta previa). My DS that was born via scheduled C at 38 weeks was born with a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and was in the Nicu for 8 days.

I also had a friend whose DD was a scheduled C and her DD had the same condition.

Yes but men were born at 35 weeks

No. DD was a failed induction at 41 weeks and received an apgar score of 10.

Neither of mine were born in respiratory distress. DD was at 42 wks after induction. She wound up in NICU only because they waited an hour with me having a heated blanket on to take my temp. With DS I had a sched CS at 39 weeks, no issues at all. GL!!

DS was born at 37w 3d via emergency C-section due to deceleration in heart beat (the cord was around his neck). He had to go into the NICU immediately due to respiratory issues. They thought he would need a c-pap machine but he ended up not. He then became hypoglycemic but that also corrected itself on its own. He was only in the NICU for a day and a half. I've heard it's a bit more common because with a C-section, the baby isn't being pushed out...so the fluid that would be pushed out during a vaginal delivery isn't. That's also why some moms are more swollen after a c then vaginal births. Not sure how true that is but it's what I've heard.

2 cs here too with no respirator issues. #1 was at 39.5 weeks, 8lb 1oz; #2 was 37 weeks, 6lbs 8oz.

No. My DC were born at 40 and 41 weeks.

I didn't have a csection, but I feel like most of my friends who did wound up with babies who had fluid in the lungs, but not respiratory distress.

No. I had a failed induction and DS1 had no respiratory issues. With DS2, I went into labor on my own, but he didn't tolerate the pushing. The cord ended up being wrapped around his neck twice. I had a c-section and he was born without any issues.

Planned c/s, ds apgars were all 9/10. No issues at all.
