Broccoli surprise!

So as I was cutting some broccoli for dinner last night, I noticed some tiny little bugs!! They were grayish and a few were even moving!!!!!!!! As u can imagine I was inspecting every single floret...with my phone flashlight!!!! It took me so long and although I was able to save some of the broccoli, I couldn't help but wonder if there were some undetected that ended up in my belly Chat Icon

What are these bugs???

Lolol! After closely examining the whole thing (which I cut up in small pieces) for a long time, yes I ate it. But who knows if there was still 1 or a couple?!?

This has happened to me a few times when I bought broccoli at Stop n Shop. It is so gross. I throw it out. I would never eat it with bugs! I've stopped buying from there. I buy at Iavarone's and have never found bugs.

It was organic and I got it at WF. I guess that tends to happen with organic produce?!?

Stop and Shop produce is some of the most disgusting produce ANYWHERE.
And always super expensive to boot.

I have no idea what ghetto farm they get their stuff from but it's truly disgraceful

They were crowns, and I got them at WF. I'm reading about it online and it seems that this happens quite a bit (different types of little creatures). I don't even wanna imagine what have made it to my belly Chat Icon Chat Icon

Now you know why you probably paid $5 for that broccoli......it included room and board for those critters!

a lot of times it is also from the back rooms-- bugs transfer from other containers. Spiders in grapes are very common at certain times of years & from certain growing areas.

A complete vacation for them, full service! Free food, hanging out with friends in an air conditioned room aka my fridge, although they ended up having a tragical destination Chat Icon

they source from many farms, all over the country (and out of the country) . including local farmers.

I would not group all farms together...

In my opinion, some stores are better than others which probably has to do with the workers.
