Bringing diaper bag to the hospital?
Just wondering if we should be doing this? The hospital I'm delivering in is about 15 minutes from my house. We're obviously going straight home once we're discharged. I have my bag packed and ready to go. I have my son's going home outfit packed in there as well. But should I bring my diaper bag to the hospital as well? I didn't think there would be a need for it as we were coming straight home but now I'm seeing a few of you girls saying you're bringing yours.

I have three DC and never brought a diaper bag with me. Trust me, you'll be leaving with all this stuff, the last thing you'll want to do is bring yet ANOTHER bag home! You'll probably have a blanket with you and they give you diapers, formula and pacifiers. What else could you need?

This is exactly what I was thinking but then I saw some people on here saying they were bringing with them so I thought maybe I was missing something

Re: Bringing diaper bag to the hospital?
Actually, now that I think about it the two hospitals at which I delivered (LIJ and NSUH) gave out nylon black diaper bags as a parting gift. So, if need be, you can jam the extras in there...

I got one from my hospital as well.
I didn't bring my diaper bag. I put the extras in my bag and the diaper bag.

Re: Bringing diaper bag to the hospital?
There is no need to bring your diaper bag. The hospital will send you home with diapers, wipes, cream/A&D, pacifiers, thermometer, bulb syringe, comb, nursettes (if you're FF), blankets, hat, burp cloths you can steal . You won't need a thing.

I would bring it empty and fill it with diapers and creams and stuff when you leave.

Re: Bringing diaper bag to the hospital?
My bag is very small ... so I packed the baby's going home outfit in the diaper bag. Both bags are small and not packed at all..so I am bringing both. Although I think with DD I just used one bag...but it's hard to remember all the details, it was so long ago!
