Unless it was the most desperate of situations I would not. Money should never be mixed with family and friends.
IF you have to to then it should be done knowing that you would probably never see that money re payed again and be ok with that.

Only in small amounts and if I never expect to see it again. Otherwise, no. Too many issues- I have seen it with my Dad and his brother.

I would not borrow money from anyone unless it was my absolute last resort and I was about to be living on the street.
I have no problem lending, but only to those near and dear and with the expectation of never seeing it again. My sister borrowed a couple thousand dollars from me a few years ago, I was happy to lend it to her, especially because of what she wanted it for. If I get it back someday, bonus! But I'm really not counting on it.

We have loaned fairly large sums of money short term to my BIL. It has always worked out fine. I let DH deal with it.
I've also loaned smaller amounts of money to several friends, I don't count on getting it back, but its nice when I do.
There were times in my life when I was raising my son by myself that small loans from friends or family got me through.
I'm glad that I'm in a postion now to pay it forward.
Its only money, I'd never lend more than I could afford to give & its not the most important thing in my world.

Depends on the sibling. We've loaned by now thousands of dollars to my BIL, never to see any of it again.
I would trust my own brother with anything, because I know I would get it back soon.

both of my sisters are younger than i am, and while they have jobs, are not the most financially stable people in the world (neither am, i but who's counting  )
my parents, fortunately, are still able to help them out tremendously, which is a blessing.
the only time i have really helped either sister out is putting up the $$ for a gift for a parent or other family member. some times i see it, some times i don't. it's not a huge deal to me since i am financially better off than they are.
however, i cannot afford to loan them any significant amount of money, so that is a moot point for now.
if i could, they both know me well enough that they would not be surprised at me making them sign an agreement that they will pay me back - either whole or in increments - by a certain date. they know i love them, but to trust them financially is a TOTALLY different story.

I would and have lent money to family & friends at some point, and I I have also at one time or another been in a situation where I had borrowed money from family. Both ways, it has always worked out ok.
I would always help out family if I am able to.

To my mom or siblings I would always lend them money. Last year I lent a lot of money to my brother and it took him a VERY long time to to pay me back, much longer than we agreed on. But I probabl;y still would do it again.

I never had to ask to borrow, but I know my siblings would help if we needed it.
