If it was my mom, 100% without a doubt yes, don't even have to think twice.
My older brother, probably not. I have loaned him money in the past many times - when I was pretty much broke myself - and to this day have never seen it. So if he were to ask to borrow $, I know we'd never see it again and unfortunately we're not in the position to give money away right now.
I loaned $ to a friend and it was soooo uncomfotable to ask for repayment (it was past the date we had agreed on and we really needed it for our wedding that we were paying for on our own).
I think in general lending $ causes too many issues to be worth it.

I would give my family if they needed...not loan - I'd have no expectation for it back unless they needed it.
And I believe they would do the same.

I agree - if lending I would not even expect it back and I would definitely help out my immediate family if they need it (and I had the means which I do not right now anyway  ).
However, on the flip side, I would never ask a family member for money. I would just take it upon myself to take out a loan from the bank if need be.

borrowing- no way
lending- depends on the purpose and if i can afford to write off the money. i would never give it unless i could afford to never see it again.

I think the 3 of us know know to turn to my dad first lol He is the one with the $$$. But we would have alot of explaining to do so its not the best route. We've never had to turn to each other.

DH has lent his siblings money which has yet to be returned. I have a feeling it never will.
I'd lend my sister money if she needed it. I know she'd pay it back.

Of course I would lend my siblings money if they needed it! I wouldn't expect it back either. I never expect to get paid back--it just leads to let downs.

I would give to my brothers and parents in a heartbeat. I would borrow only as a last resort.
As for my Dh's family, it would have to be a life or death situation since they are financially irresponsible. We have "loaned" money to them and we know we will never see it again.
