Books about Death & Dying
I am placing an order on Amazon and I would like to get a book that helps to explain death and dying to a child. Whether it be a human or a pet.
My mom passed away before my kids were born and all my DD knows is that she is in heaven but it's really hard for me to talk about without crying so I would like to get a book. I would also like to have something on hand for when ( ) our pets leave us.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions on books.
Thanks!

Books about Death & Dying
I'm sorry for your loss!!!
I don't have any book suggestions but My DS (4) has had way too much death in his short life. The biggest one was my step FIL. He was close with DS. We told him he is in heaven and an angel. IT helped him understand it a bit but also at his age I didn't feel like it needed to be in depth. He now tells me grampa is watching him!!!
My grandmother passed away last month and that was the first time he actually saw the body in the casket. He was actually very good but it could have gone either way.
Go with their cues. Less might be better.

Thank you . This June it will be 9 years but the pain and sadness never goes away.
I wish she could have met my kids but I like to think that she held them before I did.

Oh believe me, I know exactly what u mean. This Oct it'll be 12 yrs since I lost my mom and the pain of having lost her has never gone away!
I love what u said at the end, very comforting! It made me teared up!

This is a great idea. My mom too passed away a year and a half before my twins were born. Now at 5 they ask about her all the time and I still can't really talk about her. They are obviously curious because they are constantly asking me and then they bring it up at school and during speech therapy my son mentioned it to his speech teacher. I would love to hear some suggestions too.
