Anyone read Laurie Notaro books?

She seems to have a lot of them. I bought one the other day, havent started it, but they look cute. Was wondering about opinions. I bought
" I love Everybody (and other Atrocious Lies)"

She wrote
" The Idiot Girls' Action Adventure Club"
and "Autobiography of a fat bride"

Re: Anyone read Laurie Notaro books?

I read the first three and laughed my a$$ off throughout all of them. I bought the first 2 to send to a single girlfriend for her birthday. I love the stories about her mom and her nana. There was a hysterical story about how she started playing "The Sims" and it ended up in a marital spat. I think it might have been in the 2nd or 3rd (I love everybody...) book.

Idiot Girls is the first
Autobiography is the 2nd
I love everybody is the 3rd

Re: Anyone read Laurie Notaro books?

I just got "Autobiography" at the library and am reading " I love Everybody" now..Reading them backwards..LOL.

The Nana stories had me up at 12:45 am reading in bed hysterical laughing trying not to wake DH.

The part about her Nana and Call waiting, and Lifetime TV had me peeing in my pants!

Re: Anyone read Laurie Notaro books?

Is it necessary to read them in order, or is each one a "stand alone" kind of novel?

I'm always interested in new things to read.

Thanks!!

Re: Anyone read Laurie Notaro books?

I didnt read them in order and it didnt matter too much.

They are basically short stories( a page or two) about her life..but they are so hysterical!!

I cant tell you how many times I found myself laughing out loud.

I ended up reading all 4 of them in a few weeks...and cant wait to read the next!

Bumping for Donna......

I wanted to tell you that I just finished the latest one "We Thought You'd be Prettier." There was one story where I was laughing so hard, reading in bed that I started crying and DH came in to check on me. OMG she is so funny!

Re: Anyone read Laurie Notaro books?

Love that this was bumped. I got the Christmas book, but haven't read it yet.

My favorite story to date - when she pulled the maxi pad out of her purse in high school. Neenie, you will howl when you get to that one (I think it is in the 4th book.)

Now I feel like re-reading them all Chat Icon
