Blankets in crib
Now that the weather is starting to get colder, it got me to thinking....when is it OK to have blankets in the crib? DD is 17 months old. Can I put something on her to keep warm at night?

Re: Blankets in crib
I think it's ok. My ds is 2 & he uses a blanket but it's the type that's a loose knit with holes & is breathable so if it were to cover his face it wouldn't easily suffocate him.

Re: Blankets in crib
17 months is definitely old enough for a blanket. I probably started using one around 12 months.

Blankets in crib
I started with a thin muslin type blanket around 9-10 months old. She kicks it off all the time.

Blankets in crib
I still used sleep sacks at that age just bc I knew blankets wouldn't stay on. I tried once and within minutes she was screaming that she couldn't get it to stay on right lol.

Re: Blankets in crib
We gave DS a blanket around 12 months because he was walking so I didn't want to put him in a sleep sack anymore.

Re: Blankets in crib
DS is 18 months and has been using a blanket for the last month. It's honestly is a waste because he stands up the second I walk out of the room and its off him. I am going to get him a sleep sack since my house get pretty cold in the middle of the winter.

Re: Blankets in crib
DS used sleep sacks overnight until almost 2 (the ones with the feet holes) just cause he would not keep blanket on. Then one day he refused to wear it so we had to go blanket.
But he napped with a blanket far before that and I would have given him one at night by 12-18 months if he would have kept it on also

Blankets in crib
I use the aden and anais dream blanket. My 17 month old loves his blankies tho. He usually sleeps top of them.
