Blankets in crib

I have been wrapping my daughter in a blanket (besides swaddling) for several months now. She's almost 15 months. She loves to be in her blanket to sleep

MY LO is just shy of 2 and we still don't put anything in the crib.
Maybe around 2.5 yrs (around winter time) i'll introduce it.

By that age DS had a blanket, once I knew he was able to move himself around then I wasn't too worried.

Re: Blankets in crib

We literally just gave one to dd and she will be two at the end of the month. I know people do it earlier I just didn't feel the need and was still nervous about it (for no reason).

Blankets in crib

Around 10 months. She never ever rolled around in her crib until the week she turned 1 so the blanket always stayed on draped over her legs. Now at 15m, she's allll over the crib at night and her blanket gets tossed to the side. She also has a couple of stuffed animals.

We always use a very thin, breathable blanket.

Re: Blankets in crib

Once they refused sleep sacks. So prob last fall at 2. They don't always keep them on. It's a crocheted blanket.

We let dd try one at 2 but she cried bc she couldn't get it to stay in perfectly so it came out within minutes and we went back to a sleepsack. She got one for good once she switched to a bed at 2.5.

My son has blankets, thin aden and anais ones, since around 9 months. He loves holding them to go to sleep.

DS is 13 months and still does not have one. All winter he used a sleep sack. Right now, he doesn't need a blanket since it's comfortable at night. Not sure if I'll use a sleep sack again next winter or a regular blanket.

Re: Blankets in crib

We did a lamb at 12 months and a breathable blanket around 18/19 months. It was February and nights were cold. Figured it would lock in some body heat.
At first we would go and put it on when she was already asleep, but then she started requesting it when we put her down, so we gave it to her.

Dd is almost 15 months old and she is still in a sleep sack. She has a habit of putting her blanket over her head and face in her stroller and immediately does it when I have tried putting one in the crib with her. She is not ready yet.

My youngest DD never liked blankets. She hated being swaddled and even now at 21 months she hates covers. My older DC loved blankets and even to this day if it's 80 degrees out they will have a blanket with the a/c on. Weird

My son has a pillow pet, a lovey and a stuffed alligator. We cover him with a blanket every night. This has been since about 10 months old.

Re: Blankets in crib

Once my ds1 could move I wasn't even nervous. Definitely at a year he had a blanket. Something not to heavy and breathable.
