Blankets in crib?
I am a FTM and DD is 3 months old. She isnt rolling over yet and we are still swaddling at night with a blanket over her legs. Do I switch to a sleep sack once she is rolling? Blankets seem dangerous to me. We have a space heater in her room but I dont want her to get cold. Also not sure of how the transition will be to sleep sacks from swaddle-she still has that strong startle reflex. TIA

Re: Blankets in crib?
When we stopped swaddling, I switched to sleep sacks. At almost 20 months he still uses sleep sacks (he moves around like CRAZY all night long, lol).
I did that because of the AAP recommendation to not have anything in the crib due to the increase risk of SIDS. They recommend no soft items including bumpers, quilts, blankets, stuffed animals, etc. All are things that baby could suffocate on etc.

Re: Blankets in crib?
My DD never liked to be swaddled. We used the Halo Sleep Sack as soon as she came home from the hospital. By age 1 we were done with the sleep sack and she started sleeping with blankets in her crib.

Re: Blankets in crib?
My DD hated the sleep sacks, i just put warm PJ on her at 6 mos I started to use a crocheted blanket, I felt more comfortable using that since it has holes in it.
