Average crib prices?????

I've started to look for cribs and found one that I love for $700.....just wondering if this is an average price or a little high? I thought it was average but when I told a friend from work she said that I was crazy to spend that much.

I personally wouldn't spend that much on a crib, but if it is a convertible that will grow with the child then it might be worth it. If you can afford it, go for it!

We got a convertible crib from JC Penney for $369.

I agree on not spending much - I found a nice 3-1 for 400 at buy buy baby .

I want something that will last in the long run, so I can splurge along the way

Re: Average crib prices?????

I think our crib was around $500. Not positive since it was a gift from my MIL.

Even though we got one that converted into a toddler bed we did a "car" theme in my sons room so he used the crib for only 2 years and then put the toddle racing car bed in his room.

If you LOVE it then I would splurge. Its something you can save and use for every single child.

I think that's a high price for a crib. We got lucky when we got our crib. Babies R Us had put it in clearence and then told my mother and I, if we picked it up today, they would give us an additional 15% off. The crib was around 250....originally 500. Great deal!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Ours was around $700 I think when you break down the price of each piece of furniture we bought. It's a converitble and solid maple so to us it was worth it.

I think the price will depend on what type of wood you get.

Re: Average crib prices?????

Ours was $800 but I got the extra drawer and it goes from a crib to toddler bed to headboard.

The quality on it is beyond stunning so to me it was worth it. I will be purchasing from the same company for baby #2.

Mine was about $600 or so with the extra drawer (maybe a little more). It was an expensive mfg but great quality and both DH and I liked it best out of all we saw.

Re: Average crib prices?????

Mine is a convertable crib - it was $480. I spent a lot of timing reading about cribs and the drawer options etc...in the book baby bargains - I HIGHLY recommend it...it really has helped me chose almost everything I picked out.
