C-Section- in labor for 13 hours with 3.5 hours of pushing. baby would not descend- he was too large for my frame.

this is why I had my c/s as well. I might question my OB if I didn't have a friend who went to him as well and had 2 vaginal births. He gave us completely different advice based on our bodies and pregnancies. I truly believe that my OB made the right decision. When I heard the size after birth Chat Icon it all made sense!

Re: BIRTH POLL

vaginal. And this is one of the questions I asked my doctor. How quick was he to do a c-section and episiotomy. I would ask your doctor and be upfront with your wishes/concerns

Re: BIRTH POLL

vaginal and they gave me the benefit of the doubt. They told me the baby was over 9 lbs. but they let me try pushing and said they'd see how I did. I pushed with everything I had I was so scared I'd get stuck with a C-section.

i feel like Dr's these days opt.for a c-section very quickly......

They do. It seems like they'll find any reason to do a c-section.

Re: BIRTH POLL

C-section due his predicted weight in the sono being 9lbs 10oz. Since I have a small frame, they suggested it, I COMPLETELY agreed and went in the next day.

Re: BIRTH POLL

I had a C-section. My son was breech. I tried everything to get him to turn including going in the hospital for a version, which didn't not even come close to working, holding a radio between my legs (I heard they move towards music), and doing all these weird stretches. I wanted my body to go into labor naturally, so my OBGYN let me wait as late as possible to schedule my C-section. I ended up going into labor naturally 2 days before it was scheduled and went to the hospital and had a C about 1 hour later.

Re: BIRTH POLL

C-Section after 19 hours of labor and not dialating past 7cm for over 3 hours. Once she was born she was 9 pds and no way she would have fit.

Re: BIRTH POLL

c-section because they were identical twin boys who shared the same placenta and my doctor only did c-section with those types of deliveries because of the possibility of spontaneous cord abruption (sp?). More or less with those types of twins if one is coming out vaginally they could of ripped the chord of the other one out of the placenta wall and causing death to the other twin. I was completely satisfied with my doctors decision.
