Re: BIRTH POLL
emergency c-section
We tried to do a vaginal birth, but everytime I pushed the baby went into distress. Turned out the umbilical cord was too short. Too short to even bank the cord blood.

Re: BIRTH POLL
c-section. I was stuck at 8 cm for hours. Besides being a big boy, he was sunny-side up. I was upset, I really didn't want a c-section, but it turned out ok.

Re: BIRTH POLL
Vaginal. I used midwives because I felt that they would give me the best possible chance for a natural birth and they did.

me too. I was in labor for 45 hours, and was afraid I was heading for a C due to failure to progress, but my midwife keep trying to move things along.

Re: BIRTH POLL
DW was C-section after water broke, and he was transverse (kinda sideways. Dr. said he would probably break his neck if they tried vaginal.... easy decision, then... :) )
2nd was C-section. Leary of VBAC, plus, she was breech.

Re: BIRTH POLL
Vaginal. I made it easy for Dr. H to decide. She showed up..I was 10cm dialated. I pushed for about three sets of contractions and my son was born!

ditto for me except 23 hours and only 2 dilated -- DD ended up in fetal distress. Needed emergency c-section.

Re: BIRTH POLL
vaginal with both - no induction.
No doubt the rate has gone up for c-sections. It would be interesting to see the if the rate of infant complications stemming from birth has also gone down.
