Beyond devestated...
I just got the results from my CD3 test this morning and it turns out that my FSH has skyrocketed to 51.1!!!!!!! I was suppose to start my first IUI and needless to say that won't be happening anytime soon. We have an appointment on Monday for a follow up with the dr. to discuss our options. Unfortunately I believe our only option now is donor egg, and I am not sure if I could do that..... Thank god DH was home when I got the news, I have been crying ever since, I just don't understand why or how this happens to people, I am only 32....

Re: Beyond devestated...
Did they check your thyroid? That can alo effect FSH. As well as an infection. There is a book about this. I hope someone chimes in here with the info.
I am so sorry. You must be devastated.
But, don't give up until you look into what could cause this to happen all the sudden.

Have you tried Wheat Grass shots? They really seem to lower FSH. You should also read the book Inconcievable.

Yes back in March I was dx with Hashimoto's and have been on meds since, and thyroid is now in the normal range.

Re: Beyond devestated...
something isn't right. Get re-tested.
It shouldn't jump like that.
Which RE are you seeing?

I am in VA, Shady Grove Fertility. My FSH has been going up Feb.-FSH 22- Test by my OBGYN Mar/Apr- FSH 32- Test by RE
We couldn't do anything else because my insurance doesn't consider infertility until 1 year of no conception so my next test was today August- FSH 51 My RE was willing to do the IUI if my FSH was below 15, but since it went up he isn't, I'll see what he has to say on Monday when we have our follow-up

It defintly can jump like that.
Plus once its at that high stage, the numbers are almost not counted. The 32 and 51 are both so high , that most Re's wont see a difference even in the numbers so much.
i hope you seek if possible in your area, a second opinion especially maybe from an endocrinologist about the thyroid, just to make sure.
My thyroid sometimes is in the safe range ( TSH) and yet I still see symptoms , and have to have it raised temporarily.
Good luck.
Wish I had more hopeful words, but I can say your age makes Donor Eggs a great possibilty!

Re: Beyond devestated...
I'm sorry!
Right now take some time to let it sink in, but when you're ready there is tons of info out there. (other boards like ivfconnections have separate high FSH areas)
You're very young and like Gerty mentioned if you choose to DE you'll probably have great success!!
