looking to go away on Thursday. Whats the best hotel you have stayed in?. All inclusive please- Theres nothing I want more right now than mediocre mojitos on the beach.

They have a new one in Grenada I think, that looks incredible!

I did Sandals for my HM and had such a bad experience that I would never recommend them.
Excellence was great.
Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana.
Royal Hideaway is supposed to be fabulous, have not been there yet.

booked flights last night for Cancun. Going just for the weekend. I really want to stay at LIVE Aqua ( http://www.liveaqua.com/en/hotel-live-aqua-all-inclusive/experience ) but we were very happy with Secrets The Vine ( http://thevinecancun.com/ )when we went two years ago.
Has anyone been to Live Aqua??

its approx 150$ more per night than secrets. Secrets was fantastic so im not sure if its worth it. sigh...

The only negative I can give is that since it's spa-like, there is no carpet in any of the rooms or hallways. This means that people and their suitcases in the hallways are loud, nothing gets muffled. You may want to bring earplugs if you are a sensitive to sounds when sleeping.

Besides cruises, I haven't been to another land all inclusive, so I can't really fairly compare one to another. That being said...
The food was very, very good. They have a grilled chicken salad there that I still drool about.
They have a breakfast buffet, there are a few restaurants open for lunch and there is a lunch bbq around the pool area (steak/ribs/sausage) and they usually will bring out a huge paella at lunch too. Dinner there are 4ish restaurants open, plus a dinner buffet.
Most of the time we went to the restaurant near the pool/beach, they had a good mix of Americana (steak/fish/pork/chicken/pasta). We went to the purely Italian place once, it was good but there weren't many choices. The Asian place was also very good, they put sophisticated spins on dishes, not just normal Chinese chicken and broccoli.
We didn't pay for the extra restaurant, and we did not goto the MB restaurant because we didn't want to get dressed up. I would assume they would be even better than what we went to.
What I was also worried about was the drink situation. Were they going to be stingy or limit you, and they weren't. Sure, by the end of the week we were asking for doubles each time but that's because we're lushes.  There was always someone on the pool deck taking orders and they would come back within 5 minutes, if you didn't feel like getting up and going to a bar.

i had my bf call and see if they can match their rate  its actually over 200$ more per night. we will have to skip it.  :::::trying not to be a brat:::::
tomorrow cant come fast enough!

Yep, we booked farther in advance, so our rates were pretty close to other places from what I remember.

Sandals was the worst vacation experience I've ever had. I would't go back if they paid me.

Yes! I stayed in October 2013. Adults only and we had a wonderful time. Food and drinks are great. Not much nightly entertainment, although I think they may have added some now. If you want a quiet, spa like atmosphere you've got the right spot.
Our favorite spot to eat was down near the beach, the best tacos!!
We were never disturbed by any noises in the hallways. We had a room at the very top at the center of the hotel, the views were amazing.
MB restaurant was ok. I'm a foodie, none of the food impressed me. It was all just ok, better than most all inclusives.
The best breakfast we had was at the buffet in the morning, one of the waiters made me a Mexican breakfast and it was so delicious. You just need to ask for it!
