You can use the same exact logic back on that woman. Why should she give birth to a child since there are children out there that need adoption? If you turned it back on her and asked why she gave birth to a brand-new baby instead of adopting, she would have felt real stupid.

my response:
1. Bish, adoption isn't for everyone. It's costly, and just not everyone's ideal situation.
2. Bish, they're not puppies. Didn't you ever hear of I WANT MY OWN CHILD?
3. Out with BFF and some acquaintances, this chick who is a nurse said to me "don't you feel like you're trying to play God?"
Bish, please. I talk to God every night before I go to bed. He said you're ugly and should go scratch.
4.  if I hear this story ONE more time "Cousin so-and-so couldn't have a baby and was going crazy, so they adopted a baby from Guatemala and guess what? 3 months later she got pregnant! See all you need to do is relax!"

horrible!!
Once again, the opposite is true. ART is about human progress and evolution. You can turn it back on that person and ask about whether the same is true for trying to find an AIDS vaccine? Should those people just be weeded out and left to die. What about when polio was cured? People make comments because they want to feel superior. There is no logic.

Last time I checked ivf babies are no less "fit" or healthy then babies conceived the old fashioned way. Stupid people.....

Thank you so much for posting this! A friend of mine made a comment the other day about "survival of the fittest" it was TOTALLY innocent but it got me thinking about what if there's some truth to it.. meaning we're not meant to make babies
I know its not rational but IF makes you think crazy things...

 Don't think you're alone- this whole process makes us think crazy things. Even yesterday, as the Dr. is squirting me up in my water sono, I was asking her a million questions. "why?" "Should I be doing this?" "what are the health risks?"
