Being a SAHM..
I'm realizing now how hard it really is....I have newborn twins and a 2 1/2 year old......I go days without leaving the house since its winter and even if I could go out I dunno where I would go with all three lol
I have days where I think of going back part time, but I love being there for everything.

Twins must be so hard and I give you so much credit! The smiles are definitely the most rewarding thing they can do to give back.

Re: Being a SAHM..
its definitely hit or miss LOL I'm home with DS, who is 27 months. Somedays are great! he'll sleep in until 8:30, smile and chat with me and be great all through the grocery store AND target. Come home, eat a great lunch and take a 2.5 hour nap LOL THEN... there are the days (like today) when he wakes up before 7, is pretty whiny, didn't eat a great lunch, and is in his room crying right now and not taking his nap.... BUT i honestly wouldn't trade it for anything. I love being there for everything he does, knowing exactly how his days go, seeing how much he learns everyday, and just generally being with him.

Winter is hard. I am on my 6th year sah. Summer is wonderful. Try and meet people. It is so much better to sit at a park with a friend. The biggest issue for me is access to the kitchen all the time. . I really agree with this. Winter is sooooo hard! I can't wait for the spring!!!! Being stuck indoors with toddlers is the worst!

It's really hard with babies and toddlers! Especially in winter, between sickness and cabin fever.
My kids are past that stage now-- I've been a SAHM for 7 yrs, one kid is in FT school and one is in PT preschool, and I have to say, it gets much easier and more "balanced". During the baby/toddler stages I often felt my working mom friends had it a little easier. Now during the school-age stage, I often feel that I have it a little easier as a SAHM.
Even at its hardest though, I'm really glad I stuck it out... it's been really rewarding to have as much time as I've had with both kids
I agree with this! My first year home was really hard. Once my oldest started school full time it got SO much easier. I have my DD home with me every day but now that she's almost 3 and entertains herself very well, being a SAHM is awesome. I have quite a few SAHM friends and that makes it easier too Stick it out, I promise it will get better

Re: Being a SAHM..
I agree with all the ladies. I keep looking forward to spring/summer and keep telling myself with each season that passes the kids will be bigger and then things will start to get easier. Some days, its so hard to remain positive. But, it is the best type of difficult job in the world, I guess because the payoff is SO huge! There is no price tag for these years of our lives.

Re: Being a SAHM..
I am right there with you. For me being a SAHM is a true labor of love. I thought I would love every minute of it but I don't. It's been a little over 2 years now. I adore every ounce of my DS and would do anything for him, thus, I am a SAHM. But it is hard for me almost every day. But even with this said, I am grateful for this opportunity and wouldn't do anything differently. I think that being with him and here for him all of the time is one of the best gifts I can give him. My mom did it for me and I truly believe that it is the reason why I am and have been as sucessful as I have been in life.
I did the FTWM thing including commuting into the city for a year. IMO, being a SAHM is definitely harder.
It's also harder in the winter months. As soon as spring rolls around it gets so much better!

Re: Being a SAHM..
I COMPLETELY understand.
I've been a SAHM for almost 3 years and have not left the house in 5 DAYS due to DS being sick and the blizzard. I'm climbing the walls!

They deserve a gold medal, they really do. I'm a FTWM but I work from home a couple of days a week. On the days that I'm home or on the weekends, if I don't get out of the house, I am climbing the walls. It is physically and psychologically a tough thing to do...to stay home. Well at least for me. That's why, hats off for all the SAHMs.

Re: Being a SAHM..
I'm not a SAHM but I am on maternity leave and honestly I don't think I could ever do it. I was scared that I would want to go back to work when DS was born but I'm actually looking to go back early. I feel terrible. I work in an office and talk to people all day long. Going from talking to people all day to having no one to talk to was has been rough. I'm practically waiting by the door for DH to get home from work.

Re: Being a SAHM..
I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old and by the end of the day I am exhausted. There are days I want to pull my hair out but I wouldn't trade being with my boys for anything in the world. My 2 year old is in love with his momma and he is so smart! and my 10 month old is always happy. I feel blessed that my husband gave me this opportunity even if it's temporary.
