Re: Berh or Benjamin Moore
BM - DH won't use anything else
His dad was a professional painter and that's all he used...though he did find Sherwin Williams to be a decent paint as well.
I'm curious about Pratt & Lambert and would like to try that in one of our rooms...we'll see.

Re: Berh or Benjamin Moore
I did the same poll on this board and there were alot of fans of Behr also. Our contractors recommended BM and my parents said thats the only paint they ever used in their house so we ended up going with BM.
BM goes on very well though, even with one coat you get really good coverage. We were definitely happy with the quality.
I was amazed at how much $ we spent on paint!

We used Behr for most of our house (except the kitchen where we used Glidden and that wasn't that bad) and we liked Behr.,.

I have used BM paint as well as Behr, and some other paints at Lowes. Honestly, I didnt see a difference on how the paint went or how long they lasted. I personally like shopping at BM stores because they are very helpful and the color selection is fantastic.

Re: Behr or Benjamin Moore
I used the behr paint once.... in the pure white color.
NEVER AGAIN! We had to do 4 coats on top of the primer to mask the tape on the drywall underneath. And we we could still see all the white joints compounds tape.
Mavbe it was that " pure white" color that did not work for us. But I was so annoyed.
That was 5 coats if you add the Behr primer too .

Really? Does the price vary by store? My dad paid around $40/gallon a couple of months a go.
I voted other. I use Sears Easy Living paint. Mostly, b/c I always seem to live near a Sears! And I had heard Behr paint wasn't that good. (from my dad & FIL) & Benjamin Moore is too expensive.

Ben Moore.
Also, we've used American Traditions Valspar paint from Lowe's and really liked how it covered and worked overall.

BEHR
I have used Benjammin Moore and Glidden past, and BEHR on our house that we live in Now. Behr is the best paint out of all 3 in my opinion. It is less expensive which is a plus, it goes on smooth and it covers nicely.
Also we used Ralph Lauren paint in the bathroom and even though it is more expensive....I am glad we spent the extra money - great Paint - Great color choice

Ditto. For places with high traffic or that you won't be painting again maybe use BM but I don't see the real need to spend that much $$$$. Behr looks great in our new rooms.

We used Behr for our entire apartment and it looks great. I know my parents only use BM and that looks great too! Not sure if there is too much of a different, besides the price.

Re: Behr or Benjamin Moore
We have only used BM... but honestly, i think the difference lies in the color that you are choosing... the different color pigments does change the consistancy of the paint and how well it covers... i have had friends who have had a hard time with red Behr, and no problem with the BM reds... they had to do more coats with the Behr to get the red to cover evenly...
