yes
ETA: I agree with Barb. it really don't want it anywhere conspicuous.
OH, and I say yes b/c I feel like some hipsters may follow suit since they "discovered" it (brooklyn, that is).
I am angry at Brooklyn right now....so pay me even less mind than you usually would

I personally wouldn't do it. It would be like tattooing BAYPORT on me. But like another poster said if you feel that strongly about it. . . then do it.

No offense, but I would hardly compare Bayport with Brooklyn. Name 10 famous anythings from Bayport.

Getting a tatoo doesn't make a tool. Acting like a tool, makes you a tool.
As long as you get it knowing there are people that judge tatoos, even scripty Brooklyn ones, I see no issue with it.
My hesitation on the wrist location is I picture the upscale wedding with a snotty MIL looking for an event planner. You may be ok with not working with someone who would judge a tatoo, but you're still leaving money on the table.
Thank you so much Barb - this is something I fear all the time...and you reminded me of it...thank you so much - it's such a VALID point.

Re: Be honest...will I be a "tool" for getting a tattoo...
who cares if people judge you cause of a tattoo. they're gonna judge you whether you have one or not. remember that. yes, it IS annoying when people stare at me cause i'm heavily tattooed but it doesn't ruin my life or make me regret my decision. i got my tattoos for MYSELF, not for anyone else.
if you really love the idea and sit on the idea for awhile, go for it. I'm still trying to think of an idea for my "long island" tattoo. i've been thinking about this for years though.
i'd say go with your heart and not your gut. you might end up regretting your choice if you go with a tattoo you saw and wanted the same one.
and please people, be original when getting tattoos. tattoos off the wall make you a tool

i totally resent this comment. my wedding was completely classy and beautiful and i had my full sleeves showing. no one ever made a comment about my tats and nor would I care if one did. i know my MIL doesn't like my tattoos but what the hell do i care. it's ME and it's on me forever. I knew that when I was getting them done.
and what does having tattoos have anything to do with paying for an event planner?

and what does having tattoos have anything to do with paying for an event planner? It is not directed at you or anyone else with tatoos. The OP is in the business and may need to take into consideration that such a tattoo might turn off some potential clients.

Just b/c you don't like the fact that people judge doesn't mean they don't do it. NO ONE said that you can't have a classy wedding with a tattoo -- they said you have to be mindful of the fact that other people can and will judge. In this case, it could impact her business. It shouldn't, but it could. I think it's a valid consideration. I don't think it was an implication that tattoos are classless.

um, she IS an event planner.
Sure you weren't aware of it but the OP is an event planner specializing in weddings. I was an event planner for over a decade & know the field pretty well.
I'm not saying you can't have a classy & beautiful wedding with your full sleeve showing. My point is that people judge -whether it's right or wrong - and it could affect her financially.
If she's ok with that, go for it.
If not, then consider the location.

it shouldn't have to.
ask before getting so offended and resentful and understand that people take what they know about an OP into consideration sometimes. answers are not always global.
don't be so quick to jump the gun...

Re: Be honest...will I be a "tool" for getting a tattoo...
Apologies for the delayed response, and thank you for those clarifying my profession!
I've decided against a wrist tatoo all together...
I am however still in the process of the "bullseye" tattoo with the quote from a few posts ago. In progress by the artist.
I'm now thinking the Brooklyn script tatto is going to find a home on my body where it is not seen by the "general public."

sorry i'll remember next time i see a post i MIGHT want to respond, that I should do some research first on the OP before I post.
i'm still offended that some people would think that because someone DOES have a tattoo, they cant do their job to their potential or it might not be a classy wedding. people are stupid
