Bad Mommy Confessions
I think it is time for these, they are always fun
What made me think of this was tonight when I ran out to get DH and I dinner from McDonald's and it was 8:30pm and I was giving DS fries in the backseat. All I kept thinking was "OMG, this is so bad. He should be in bed and not eating fries"

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
Um, my house is a disaster more often than it is clean. DD has great agility-- want to know why? Because since she's learned how to walk, she's had to sidestep/shimmy/scoot over and around so many things on the floor, she's used to it

I had resting on his boppy on my bed, and turned away for 1 MINUTE and he flopped over onto his face. He was face down, arms akimbo and crying. It was the SADDEST sight and I still can't shake it out of my mind

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
I let the dcs watch Sesamee Street so that I can be on the internet for a bit!
I also feed them deli turkey. It is one of the only things they eat! So much for organic living!

I let my child ignore her organic home-made spinach quesadilla tonight and eat tortilla chips, milk, and an orange for dinner instead.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
I picked my ds up out of his crib and put him right in the car (I didn't feel like changing him). Went straight to the mall to get a few things-I didn't remember to change him until I was leaving the mall(hours later)-to find he had peed through his onesie and his pants were totally soaked! I had to put him in his stroller in just a diaper and shirt and cover his legs with my jacket to get out of the mall quick!!

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
I opted not to take Robbie to the doctor on Saturday because they were insanely busy and I was thinking it was probably just a little bug that would be gone by the end of weekend. He'd just been to the doctor on Thursday and there was nothing wrong then...
He has pneumonia and I feel like the worst mom EVER.

you're not the worst mom ever, I would have figured it was just a 24 hour thing too and stayed home.
My confession: I let my 6 month old DS watch Baby Einstein so I can clean the house, come on this board, and do my Christmas shopping online. Yesterday he must have watched 5 of them!

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
Naptime sometimes comes early in our house due to crankiness...Mommy's crankiness not DS's....
Last night Lexi was upset b/c I took her blankey (yes she still has her baby blanket). I had taken it b/c she wouldnt put the clothes I folded away...That's not the confession though...the confession is that she was carrying on (truth is she is a total drama queen and can be a tad histrionic at times). Jaedyn was mocking her behind her back and I couldnt help but laugh...as much as I tried to keep a straight face.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
Last night, we were at the Curry Club. DD missed her nap and was cranky.... I let her run around the lobby (it was pretty much empty, and those that were in there were very entertained), and when she stopped running, I kept giving her the sugar crystals from the "after dinner mint" tray.... It kept her happy so DW could chat with her bro and SIL.

Sydnie watches TV for about 45 minutes a day (2-3 separate times) so I can get things done.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
My son eats Thomas the Tank Engine Pasta almost every night for his dinner.
And some days I give him a piece of chocolate to get him into his coat in the morning so we can get out of the house on time.
And I don't care.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
These make me feel so much better. I'm so glad I'm not the only bad parent.
Here goes mine: My house is a HUGE mess. DH is away for the week and I'm not putting all the toys away every night.
I let DD watch way too much TV yesterday while I moped around, sad that DH is away.
This is not so much bad mommy, but lazy Susan: while DD napped for only 1.5 hours yesterday , I sat in front of the TV and watched old Desperate Housewives on Lifetime. Then I was mad when I finally started to pay bills and DD woke up.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
DS has started crawling from room to room this past week. On Sunday he crawled into the kitchen for the first time and got hair and dust balls all over his onesie.
I was calling him "swiffer baby." Is that worse than him getting dirty in the first place?

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
- DS gets unlimited Earth Best cookies and puffs when we go out and he is too cranky. He can't say much with a mouth full. Now he is looking for puffs in the stroller tray the minute we go to a museum, zoo, aquarium...
- Lately, I have been leaving DS in the crib for up to 1 hour after he wakes up if I was not ready to get up because I was too tired. DH puts his plush toys and blanket just before DS wakes up so he can entertain himself. I used to get up the minute he woke up.
