- Lately, I have been leaving DS in the crib for up to 1 hour after he wakes up if I was not ready to get up because I was too tired. DH puts his plush toys and blanket just before DS wakes up so he can entertain himself. I used to get up the minute he woke up.
This is not bad parenting, this is "fostering independent play."

I've got a tv junkie on my hands
She only eats dinner in her highchair.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
My DS will get sweets as a bribe when we're out. I will sit back and let him fall if I've already told him not to do something.
ETA- I also leave him alone in his highchair eating breakfast while I walk the dog. (I only walk her infront of the house)

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
DS watches more and more TV lately b/c it lets me get things done around the house or be online
I hide when I eat a snack b/c he begs for my food
I constantly am bonking his head when I take him in and out of the car
I feed him multiple cookies while shopping so he doesn't get cranky
I've put a few cheerios on the floor so he doesn't keep coming over to me asking for some (but my floors are usually spotless )

I had resting on his boppy on my bed, and turned away for 1 MINUTE and he flopped over onto his face. He was face down, arms akimbo and crying. It was the SADDEST sight and I still can't shake it out of my mind

This happened to me when DD was 4 months old.
We kept the boppy comfort pillow (the one that looks like an apostrophe) in the pack n' play because DD slept better on it. DH put her down to nap while I was upstairs cleaning. I hear her crying, but think that DH is right in the living room with her. The crying goes on for what felt like ages. I finally go downstairs p issed off at DH to find DD face down in the corner of the pack n' play hysterical crying, arms flapping and legs kicking. DH went into the garage to put recyclables away, thinking that DD was asleep. That was the first time she had ever moved from where we put her. Thankgoodness the pillow created a pocket of air.
My heart still pounds when I think about it.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
DS basically lives in his swing and bouncer chair.
And I only have two clean rooms in my house...sadly the bathroom is not one of them.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
i will leave DS strapped into the changing table while i brush my teeth in the morning (he is only 10 weeks old and doesn't roll yet)
i will also let him fuss in his crib when i put him down for naps - if he isn't crying, i don't go in there, and he will usually put himself to sleep.

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
DD has a bad cold and isn't sleeping at all through the night so I bring her into our room, strap her in her bouncer (even though she is too big) and let her watch noggin at 2am until she falls back asleep
ETA: She also acts like a human swiffer when she crawls across the kitchen floor because I have no time to vacuum all the dog fur up

Lucas and I eat whipped cream from the canister...I spray it in his mouth
So now when he sees a can of whipped cream he walks towards it with his mouth open
This made me LOL!

Oh no, my DS wasn't napping, just sitting there wide awake. I don't think you are a bad mommy if he is napping. At least you waited until he went to sleep.

This is not bad parenting, this is "fostering independent play." LOL I love this term...totally going to use it when I defend putting DD in her crib for "quiet time".

I opted not to take Robbie to the doctor on Saturday because they were insanely busy and I was thinking it was probably just a little bug that would be gone by the end of weekend. He'd just been to the doctor on Thursday and there was nothing wrong then...
He has pneumonia and I feel like the worst mom EVER.
You are one of the best moms that I've ever 'met.' Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure there is not much the doctor could have done at that point anyway

DS2 is sitting happily in the Baby Bjorn. I just took a sip of my (now cold) coffee and totally missed my mouth! Some of it dribbled on babies head . Oops!!!!

Re: Bad Mommy Confessions
I left my son at home with my MIL while I went to Blockbuster. It was 10pm and my son was sleeping. When I came back, he was crying and screaming his head off. My MIL was sound asleep and didn't hear him. SHE WAS IN THE NEXT ROOM! I felt like the worst mommy ever when I saw his poor red face. When I picked him up, he held on to my so tight while sobbing.
