Re: Baby's first sleepover
My mom took DS overnight at one month old because I had a wedding to go to. He is 3 and has only stayed at grandparents or SILs house overnight but if someone else I trusted offered, I'd be like sure! Take him!

Baby's first sleepover
My son is alittle over 2 years old. My son has slept over my parents house on a number occasions but only when I have needed it for things like weddings out of town, or too late to pick up. Even at 2 I do not think I would have him sleep somewhere else for no reason.

Re: Baby's first sleepover
At 8 months DH and I took a little "parents weekend away" and our DS stayed with my mom overnight for 3 nights.
He has since had many overnights with grandma, which have been good for all of us. He has not stayed overnight with any other relatives but there are a few people I would trust him with. That being said, I don't know how I feel about a sleepover "just because..." at such a young age.

Re: Baby's first sleepover
DD is almost 4 and DS is almost 2 and they have never slept over anywhere without me! I really can't imagine taking an overnight trip anytime soon without them, although sleeping in would be nice!

Baby's first sleepover
DD is going to my parents on Sunday night for the first time. We are gradually getting her ready for when I go to have baby#2 in Nov. This is her first time sleeping away from us and I know she will be ok, I am more worried about my parents lol.

Baby's first sleepover
My parents and in laws have either slept at my house (we has to go away for 1 night to a wedding) or my dd has slept at their house since she was a baby... im trying to remember maybe around 4 months or so. After she started sleeping through the night consistently. I see absolutely nothing wrong with a grandparent doing it. I do however feel uncomfortable if another relative kept asking. Like i did have a relative who constantly asked and she eventually stopped asking cause i think she got the hint.

Re: Baby's first sleepover
DD is 21 months and still hasn't had a sleep over without us. We travelled for the first time as a family to visit my in-laws when DD was 3 months and they watched her for an evening so DH and I could go out, but we were only gone a few hours. We travel pretty regularly to visit family but we all go together. So it's like a sleepover for all of us,

Re: Baby's first sleepover
We travel with DS, but waited till he was 2 1/2 for him to sleep without us, and even then it was in our own home. We went to Chicago for a weekend so my parents stayed with him in our house for two nights, and we did a night in NYC so they stayed with him in our house for one night. This fall we are going to California, and they will stay with him in our house for 3 nights, he will be 4. I'm already having extreme anxiety about that trip. I remember maybe sleeping at my grandparents a few times, but I was elementary aged. I would never have him sleep at another relatives, unless there was a reason my parents couldn't do it, and then it would only be my inlaws, sister, or brother in laws.

Baby's first sleepover
They have only ever slept at grandparents and were about a year old respectively when it happened. My oldest will sleep at my parents house when her cousins are visiting from out of town (plus her cousin has slept at our house, both 5). But otherwise, they have only slept over at their grandparents when we went away or had a wedding and it was too late to have a babysitter at our house. I think it is weird someone (UNLESS its your mother) wants to have a baby sleep over night at their house without a reason, IDK that's just me.
