baby hates headbands
My baby cries nonstop anytime I try to put one on her and doesn't stop until I take it off. Anybody else's DD hate headbands? Any tips for how I can get her used to them? I have so many gorgeous ones that she would look so cute in!
ETA: I don't force her to wear them. I just give it a try every now and then to see if she'll wear it without getting upset. If she cries, I take it off.

I would stop using them. The end. You could try again in a few weeks and if she continues to cry, take it off. It's really not worth it to upset her for the sake of a fashion accessory.
Both my girls would pull hair clips out constantly when they were little. It wasn't until they were around two that they would keep them in. After that, no problem...

Honestly, DD never wore them. She didn't like them and as soon as she could she pulled them off.
Hopefully someone has a tip that will work, but otherwise I wouldn't make her unhappy for the sake of looking cute.  Trust me, I understand. I have a drawer full of headbands that never got worn. It sucks.

Try a different material? I would stop using them too if she didn't like them.
Is it immediate? i only put headbands on her to take a picture.

I also have a bunch of headbands that were gifts that are going to waste but I don't like to put them on dd since I can tell she's not comfy wearing them. Once in a while I'll put one on for a quick photo but that's it.

DD had certain ones that she hated too, but I found she tolerated ones that were really soft and not too tight much better. There were a few that were made of really soft nylon i think, like the same material that tights were made of, and she hardly even noticed they were on.

Try this-
As soon as we get to where we are going as I am taking them out of their carseats I shove it on their head quick. They are usually so interested in where we are/where we are going that they leave it on for quite a while. I do not use them when we are home hanging out ever unless I am sitting them down for pictures.

I put them on for pics. If they are just hanging out and they fall over their eyes they cry. Then I take it off. Maybe try a soft one?

i bought so many over the years just in case
a good friend of mine has her own biz
she made me tons
when i knew i was having a girl i bought tons more
i bought tons of hats
my daughter has hated them since day 1

I would not use them because the pressure might hurt her head. My dd was born with a full head of hair so I put hair bows on her to get the hair out of her eyes. I would not use them if the child did not have hair as I think it is cruel to use the glue on kind.

one of my twins is and has been fine with headbands and hats. The other wants nothing to do with them and even takes them out of here sisters hair. I wouldn't bother if I were you.

I'm thinking she meant glue on clips? Like the clips are glued onto the headband accessory. Those dig into them.
I think everyone can relax though, I highly doubt the OP will be gluing bows to her kids hair, or will be MAKING her wear them. Get a grip

I feel like any time someone asks a question anymore, people just jump down their throat and act so negatively. the op shouldn't have to eta to say that she takes the headband off if dd is crying... why does everyone just assume the worst in others?? it's getting so annoying. this site used to be so supportive. ugh.
anyway, dd also is NOT a fan of headbands or hats. even a winter hat was an issue and they are soft, cozy and not tight at all. she just hates things on her head. sometimes, like for a necessary hat or a picture, i'd just try to distract her when I was putting it on. but she definitely is a lot more compliant with softer materials. I had a lace headband for her christening and she kept it on all day with no problems, but others I've put on her and she cries immediately, and the distractions don't help. hopefully she'll like them more when she gets older, or will at least grow enough hair to use a clip or a bow

have you tried the thick stretchy ones with the big flower? there are a bunch of holes in the band and the band is super light.

What is going on? This is twice now Ive been quoted in a response where people said something about needing to relax or jumping down someones throat. My question had NOTHING to do with the OP, I just couldn't believe such a thing existed and was just asking if glue on headbands were an actual thing.

I have to agree with this. This is the second time the responses to one of my posts have made me feel guilty when I wasnt even doing anything wrong. The first time I was accused of "projecting my weight issues onto DD" because I was concerned about overfeeding and now it was being assumed that I force my baby to wear headbands while she cries hysterically for the sake of having her look cute. I thought maybe I was being too sensitive, but I'm glad its not just me!!
I'll try some of the lacey, softer, stretchier ones and see how she does. Thanks to those who responded with suggestions or shared their own experiences.

Hey, I didn't think your comment was directed at me at all  And yea, I think ive heard of "gluing" bows directly on to bald babies' heads. i think the glue is actually some kind of syrup, from what i've read. But still insane that someone would do this.
