My baby hates textured foods...

He's 11mths and he gags at cherrieos and puffs. I just keep trying but he shakes his head no! I gave him a little of my moms meatballs and he threw it up cause he was gagging so much. My very Italian Mother almost passed out! LOL! With my twin boys they ate everything under the sun. Any ideas on what I should do and can you post eating & sleeping schedules you have with your DC.

My son is the same way. At 15 months, he is still eating mostly baby food. He has no problems with Cheerio's, crackers, fruit, and french fries! I started him on table food around 9 months. He gagged a few times on stuff but after a while he was fine. I didn't start puffs until about 8 months and cheerios after 10 months. He had the most sensitive gag reflex. He was eating pasta, chicken, turkey, pancakes, carrots, peas, potato's, etc with no problems until this past November at 12.5 months when he just stopped eating table food..I know he has issues with texture....Just keep trying different things. He may not be ready yet. My pedi isn't worried yet because he is gaining weight. I am worried because he will occasionally gag on baby food. I try a new food with DS a couple of times a week. It takes sometime for them to understand that what is in their mouth is food...Keep trying...I know it is hard..
